Love that show! It's such a delight. I'm curious to see how the American adaptation goes.

It's terrible news that Polygon's been gutted like this, and doubly terrible that they let go of Susana, who is hands down one of the best editors I've ever worked with. I'm very proud of all the fun pieces we did together there. Someone needs to snap her up ASAP! You won't regret it!
So fucking right
Right?!?!
Could I get the Star Trek TNG books set aside? Thanks!
Ooh, excellent reminder! Gotta check this out, for sure.
It was SO GOOD.
My condolences, Johanna. KC was a great guy. An important figure in superhero history too, but above all that such a good dude.
Oh, maybe in the Wonder Woman Psychology book? I did a chapter in that comparing Wertham with Marston that may have touched on it. It's been a while!
I don't think it was me. I've written about it in the Catwoman book, and now the Batgirl book, but not in a standalone piece that I can recall. Apart from an essay back in university!
Interview with Brynne Chandler, THE Batgirl Writer on Batman: The Animated Series thanley.wordpress.com/2025/01/20/i...
I don't have anything profound to say about it all. It gets worse and worse with each new account. Ultimately, I find a slice of optimism in knowing that the downfall of one grotesque storyteller came about because of the heroism of several courageous storytellers
Simultaneously sick to my stomach about the disturbing behaviour outlined in yesterday's Gaiman article and awed by the bravery of those who came forward to tell their stories.
This post concludes our tour through #NeverASidekick! Thanks for following along and exploring all the fun inside the book. Check out this link to see all the ways you can get a copy! thanley.wordpress.com/11332-2/
Today, the Batgirls pop up here and there across the Bat-line of books. Cass and Babs are regulars in Birds of Prey, and Cass also has her own book at the moment, though Steph hasn't been seen prominently in a while. The characters remain a fixture, just not a constant one. #NeverASidekick
Eventually Steph and Cass became Batgirls again, and all three Batgirls teamed up in the aptly named series, Batgirls, that captured the joy and camaraderie of the trio, with their mutual love and support at the forefront of the book. #NeverASidekick
A lovely review of my new book!
Thanks so much for the great review!
Stephanie and Cassandra were benched for years following the reboot, but eventually made their way back into the DC universe. Stephanie returned as Spoiler, her past as Robin and Batgirl erased, while Cass came back as Orphan. #NeverASidekick
The Batgirl of Burnside run that followed ushered in a new era of fun and frivolity for the newly young Barbara, who got up to all of the usual shenanigans young people get up to. #NeverASidekick
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it! Thorough is my lane, for sure. I love a deep dive!
Thanks, Johanna! I can't believe there are six of them now!
Some really interesting comic history here!
With DC's linewide New 52 relaunch in 2011, Barbara returned to the cowl, though writer Gail Simone ensured that the character's history of disability representation wasn't forgotten as Babs dealt with trauma and recovery after a miraculous surgery. #NeverASidekick
Halfway through and absolutely loving “Never a Sidekick” by @timhanley01.bsky.social. The history of Batgirl is fascinating!
