Has anyone recovered from T & F swallowing Amsterdam University Press?

So much for the generous labour of editors, peer reviewers, & scholars who believed in O/A.

You probably know where to find Transnational Flows —a volume I co-edited with Barak Kalir during my PhD.

What is a University Press? I was having a pretty good week last week, until we got to the closing minutes of play. At that point, I learned that Amsterdam University Press (AUP) had been acquired by the for-profit corporate pub...

What is a University Press?

On the acquisition of AUP by T&F (and my anger at it), the governance link between universities and university presses, and putting one's labour where one's values are.

Pleasures of academia - in conversation with great colleagues & editors. On conjugal futures, traffic in things, cycling, care and communities & eating with fingers. Thinking across anthropology, history, geography & STS.

An intellecrual giant' ECONOMIST BENEDICT ANDERSON IMAGINED COMMUNITIES Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism

This classic work in the history of nationalism argues that the rise of widely available print (esp. newspapers) made it possible for geographically dispersed groups of people to imagine themselves as a roughly coherent entity called "a nation" in which there was an ongoing conversation.

Hey friends at #AAA2024Tampa !! The book exhibit closes way earlier than usual. We are only open until Friday at 1pm (not Saturday at 4 as in earlier years). All books are $15 -- even better than our online sale discount.

It seems Spectacles of Waste as a book is available in the US and UK (but Australia not yet). The electronic version available everywhere. As Anna Tsing kindly says, 'Anderson puts the "anal" back in analysis and the "colon" back in colonialism.' That's good, isn't it?
