I shaved off the winter beard and kept a mustache for the day to celebrate the beginning of Spring.

Ran a marathon in the sunshine as an extra celebration. The trails are still very snowy, so it was a mix of snow and pavement running today.

It was pouring down rain for my run today! I ran 25 km and didn’t see another person willing to get soaked on the trail. Lots of pretty birds, though

I took a picture of the Missouri River on the run, but couldn’t take my phone out of the ziplock bag

In 2025, more power was generated worldwide from renewable energy than from coal, and 91% of new renewables are now cheaper than fossil fuels.

Each year nuclear adds only as much net global power capacity as renewables add every two days.

Today was my longest run of the year: 20 trail miles

It was my first run without snow since November (I left the North for a bit).

I ran 28km today. My longest ever treadmill run.

I was stuck inside because we’re in a historic blizzard: over 3 ft of snow so far! But at least I got to eat cupcakes for running fuel.

Humans evolved in an atmosphere containing roughly 280–300 ppm of CO₂. We're now at 420 ppm which increases bicarbonate levels and decreased blood phosphorus and calcium.

I’ve been working with data for about 20 years and I wish I’d learned these tips when I was a PhD student.

A few simple changes to how you store your data can save you hours later. Future you will be thankful you read this post.

Anyone else learn this the hard way?
