(5) The mostly 90s-themed costume contest included Xena, Björk, Cindy Crawford & KD Lang 🥵, 2 different groups of Spice Girls, and a Pink Pony Club crew, but the winners of my heart were of course Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, who didn’t even compete!

(4) Getting pulled up on stage with renowned dancer, teacher + choreographer Kristen Sudeikis to help lead the most joy filled dance class ever. I was telling myself “do it like you’re teaching the class” + then she pointed to me + brought me up on stage!

Never before at a festival did I experience such kindness and friendliness (like the person who snapped this candid of us being sappy). Needless to say, @josiepinto + I have become major evangelists for all our friends to come next year. We will recruit you! Some highlights, more to come:

I am now in a Beyond The Binary WhatsApp chat w/ someone who has cats named Glennon + Abby. Alex Hedison premiered their documentary ALOK, I went to a journaling workshop with Jensen McRae, + watched some lucky ducks play soccer with Abby Wambach!

There’s so much to say about our honeymoon in Mexico but I’ll start with the best we saved till last: Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend music festival. This festival was for the girls, gays, theys, + trans people. There were non-binary + BIPOC affinity spaces.
