Every year, hundreds of people walk silently through the streets of Minneapolis… looking at the windows of the houses.
It's the Wedge Cat Tour: the residents put the cats in the window and the crowd stops to admire them.
Yes. This exists. 😹

If you don’t have 2FA active on Bluesky, turn it on NOW.
There’s an ongoing attack taking over accounts and spamming with links, which seems to add an “app password” for access externally. Already had one friend’s account compromised and I’m seeing others.
A tweet from FactPost reads: “Gov. Newsom has announced California will be the first state to sell insulin through a state-backed program. It will cost just $11.” Below the text are two images side by side: on the left, California Governor Gavin Newsom standing in front of an American flag; on the right, a close-up of a gloved hand holding a vial labeled “INSULIN (rDNA origin)” with dosage and storage instructions.
California leads the way!

A post on the Genshin Impact subreddit announcing the recasting of the character Kinich The text reads: After Version 5.5 is updated, Kinich's VA will be updated to Jacob Takanashi (this change only applies to new content in Version 5.5, historical content will be gradually updated in subsequent versions). A response from a Reddit user states: I know nothing about HSR's situation, but in ZZZ, both VAs were non-union but striking anyway. Nothing was keeping them from working. Can't say I know enough about Kinich's actor, but if the Strike becomes an invalid reason for him to stop voicing the character then I imagine the same applies to him.
An exchange between two users about the recasting One says: I think hoyo is running out of patience with the strike and will slowly recast actors that refuse to come back. The response from the other is: Frankly, it's been a long time coming, Hoyo was very respectful and willing to work through this situation for a long time, but it's fundamentally effected the game for EN players and I'm sure it's being reflected in their data.
A Reddit user stating: This is unfortunate but at the same time, it's something that must be done. It's almost half a year already.
A recent Genshin Impact update reveals yet another striking actor has been recast.
Here is the apathy it receives in response.
Shame on anyone who thinks the strike would ever “become an invalid reason” in this context.
These people are fighting for AI protections.

A full-length oil painting of Ada Lovelace wearing a white gown with puffed sleeves and a red sash, standing in an elegant interior with a staircase in the background. Text says: The world's first programmer? Ada Lovelace was a pioneering 19th century English mathematician. She is celebrated for her revolutionary writings about early mechanical computers.
Long before modern computers, Ada Lovelace foresaw a future where machines could compose music and create art.
Born in London in 1815, she was the child of poet Lord Byron and Lady Anne Isabella Milbanke. Despite her father’s fame, her mother emphasized a rigorous education in mathematics. 🧵⬇️ (1/4)

A reminder for these times.
Miso, a pretty cream colored kitten with light grey lynx points and ice blue eyes.
Mini Moo, a petite and cute black and white patched kitten.
In the last month, I’ve gotten some of the worst news we could get about our former kittens, not once, but twice. Mini Moo & Miso both developed FIP, a deadly mutation of the usually benign feline coronavirus. Moo in early January, & now Miso. We will always support our adopters through this— (cont)
Lisa Simpson giving a presentation: "The people who made Jurassic Park didn't think it was possible to transition from female to male and that's why they got eaten by dinosaurs. Moral of the story is, support trans rights or get eaten by dinosaurs"

BOSTON, MA — we have a C4C alumnus who needs a new home as his adopter’s life circumstance has sadly changed & he needs a home ASAP. If you’re local to Boston area & have a loving permanent home for this guy (cat friendly/ok with dogs), please DM us for an app. OR if you’re familiar w/tenant law!!
(Fires are important to learn about too but timely biosecurity is a very odd choice to skip.)
Also, they accidentally included a chart about cats and bird flu in the fire article.
What’s going on? Who knows, but it’s not pretty.
Good: CDC’s outbreak publication (MMWR) is now up and running after the first pause in over 70 years
Bad: Todays publication is about fires, and not the missing bird flu or mpox studies we knew were up for publication. Of which have safety implications for veterinarians and people with house cats

Lost my CDC contract after a visit from DOGE. I feel like I’m in the dirt (or TBH eating a pint of ice cream on a couch crying). But here’s the thing: Pushing people down—especially those with heart, purpose, and love for public service—doesn’t mean they stay down. It’s literally against their DNA.
