Years in corporate America have taught me that every "cost-saving measure" ends up being a financial disaster. Trying to replace humans with AI to "save money" is just more corporate nonsense that's gonna destroy their budget.

People love to come at me when I point out how terrible AI voices sound, but.... They're just so bad. Even the clones of specific actors still have the Uncanny Valley effect going on. Save time and money and just pay actors what they're worth. I promise you'll spend less in the long run.

It's really easy to be skeptical since there are so many less-than-savory rackets running around. But there are truly good humans out there like June. People who find happiness through lifting others up, through helping others succeed. Lighting the candles of others makes the whole room brighter.

I haven't gone to Convergence in several years (the con is great, just personal stuff), but I'm thinking about it this year for this reason!

It's a weird sort of loneliness, being surrounded by people, but feeling alone. Being asked for an opinion, then spoken over. Gushing about something I love to be met with complete silence. Such is the nature of existence.
