When I was at the CDC there was a big push to add in "... control and PREVENTION" ... admittedly this was at the end of the nineties, but have we really gone so far astray?

This seems to me; criminal negligence

At CDC, employees with disabilities are stuck in a backlog of accommodation requests while being denied telework, even if they did their jobs remotely for years. Some are burning leave just to avoid being marked AWOL. 🤦‍♀️

Why Spiders Are Crucial for Baby Birds & How Leaves Tie It All Together Learn how spiders provide critical food for baby birds and how leaf litter sustains their populations. Explore the link between soil health and the food web.

This is super cool!! I learned something about spiders yesterday:

“spiders can contain 40 to 100 times more taurine than caterpillars, beetles, or flies. For nestlings, taurine… supports neuron growth, synapse formation, and visual development.”

What a great initiative 💚 Hopefully other Councils will follow.

Rotherham Council replaced 8 miles of mowed grass with wildflowers.

They saved £25,000 in mowing costs a year and bees, butterflies, and birds showed up almost immediately.

The Canada goose in question, from photo 1. It's not good lighting but that's the goose.

Went to Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs this morning and the Canada geese were in unusual spots maybe getting ready to nest? It was fun spotting them, way up in the red rocks, here a couple of examples.

Soul Man was partly filmed on my college’s campus(subbing for Harvard) so everyone had to watch it at least once. Two characters have a conversation under the window of what would later be my freshman dorm room, iirc.

I seriously think he was mixing things in based on geography — if it’s SW France, gotta work the Cathars in. And then he got some library books on medieval heresies and one thing just led to another.
