Days after covering a protest last week, I realized I had been shot with a new so-called "less-lethal" munition that the LAPD is using more commonly at protests: the FN303. This week, Chief McDonnell said that officers used the FN303 because a judge banned the LAPD from using 40mm launchers.
The landscape in LA is different from other cities which makes responding to these raids more difficult. We’ve been fighting this for over 6 months now. Don’t forget about us.
We need more help. Get tapped in with the tenants union & community self defense coalition. Organize you neighbors.
ICE & CBP never left Los Angeles. In fact, today the feds set a daily record for number of kidnappings.
Do not fall for the trap of “X says they’re leaving the city.” LA may have disappeared from the headlines but it’s still going on. We must continue to organize & fight back. Solidarity 🖤
Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.
This is literally what they do whenever a Black person is killed by police. No matter how solid the evidence is, they will keep pushing that lie, not just to poison the conversation and make sure the killer walks free, but to reassert the political idea that these people deserve to be killed.

It’s so cool that our city council just voted to let LAPD keep shooting people with tear gas and rubber bullets, pretty much guaranteeing we’ll be on the hooks for millions more in the coming years
A few years ago, I explained in this short video how the cash bail system works. It makes everyone in our society less safe--it's sort of the equivalent of a modern "flat-earther" policy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO5J...
This whole thing is racist, but take particular note of the threat of denaturalization. That's stripping people of their citizenship, and that's the road to mass murder and atrocity.
People have largely tried to act like ICE/CBP failed and retreated from LA and that is completely untrue. If it weren’t for the relentless coverage of places like @lataco.bsky.social these stories would be completely under the radar.
Rev. Rae Huang has officially launched her campaign for mayor of LA. Her platform and messaging are born out of a decade of movement organizing in LA, I really think she’s a one of a kind candidate.

Political violence is evil, killing people is evil, a country with more guns in it than people is broken, and what the government is saying about political violence right now being a primarily leftwing phenomenon is factually, statistically untrue. They are using this moment to rewrite history.
FOUNDATION S3 FINALE OH MY GOD?!
reminder that as trump looks to expand his terror to other cities, shit is still very much going down in LA
The most clear-eyed, straightforward thing you can read right now: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/america-ti...
The US President has ordered the creation of ”specialized” military units to “quell civil disturbances” in all 50 of our states.
Military units under his personal control.
Deployed across our homeland, in peacetime.
Little time is left to stop this insanity.
"i asked chatgpt" yeah well i went to the doctor, i went to the mountains, i looked to the children, i drank from the fountains there's more than one answer to these questions pointing me in a crooked line and the less I seek my source for some definitive closer I am to fine
He’s gonna send the troops into our cities to create violence as a pretense for shooting us to control the violence.
Tell me how this isn’t a declaration of civil war, threatening to deploy militarized federal officers explicitly to places that oppose him politically?
These injuries were not inflicted by ICE or federalized guardsmen or imaginary agitators. They were inflicted by LAPD and LASD, under the direction of a supposedly democratic mayor, against people who came out to protest peacefully against fascism and racist kidnappings of our neighbors.
Remarkable.
MSNC: "I want to reiterate this has been 100% peaceful."
Seconds later, LA County sheriffs start firing on the crowd.
Yet again, "law enforcement" deliberately escalated.
Police have started attacking peaceful protesters at L.A.’s No Kings Day by trampling them with their horses, shooting less than lethals, and deploying tear gas. 🧵 @theglutster.bsky.social & @shoton35mm.bsky.social reporting

But nowhere in this NYT article--or pretty much anywhere in mainstream news--is there any indication of on what authority El Salvador claims to be detaining these people. They are just hostages. And the article ignores that there is no lawful basis for their ongoing detention.
