He probably doesn't need to tweet in favour.

Particularly shameful is the post from @willnorman.co.uk on Twitter. I noticed he hasn't crossposted here on BSky, probably because he would be ripped up to shreds. Will, don't need to champion a 💩. The service will be dead as a dodo in a couple of years and you will look at your post with shame.

@londoncycling.bsky.social are you planning to do some FOIs to get usage numbers? I think whilst it is free it may get some occasional usage at peak hours, but I can't see the service surviving once it costs money.

It will be interesting to see how much usage the Silvertown cycle shuttle gets over the next few months. I don't live there, but seeing how difficult (and dangerous) the bus stops are, how inaccessible the bus is, and how inconvenient it is I reckon the service will be scrapped in the next 2 years.

Two identical twins leave two identical houses to go to two identical jobs

One walks, the other gets into a car that causes pollution and danger

Explain to me why the former twin is made to wait for the latter, rather than the other way round

Anti-cycling stories are bad for the UK’s health, says Chris Boardman Racing champion turned active travel advocate criticises parts of the media for safety scaremongering

At the moment we have a very consistent, non-evidence-based, negative narrative to stop any change … It needs people with courage to stand up and say: ‘This is not in the public interest. I want my kids to be able to get to school under their own steam.’

Do Cambridge's newfangled road layouts actually work? Cambridge now has a Dutch-style roundabout, two Cyclops junctions and 14 Copenhagen crossings.

I am very proud of the work @camcycle.bsky.social is doing to make Cambridge a better place to live, by making cycling and walking the quickest, most enjoyable, and safest way to get around. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I do recommend a dehumidifier, it makes a huge difference too ☺️

I don't know what scheme that is, but that screenshot looks awful :(

I think that is very optimistic, I still need to see what the central government is going to be doing in this regard, as otherwise it will be left to individual councils. I am more in the cautiously optimistic camp.

Probably not, only Wales has it in the UK I think?. Cambridgeshire is getting there, thanks to the leadership from Cambs County councillors even when the police are largely against (because they don't think road danger reduction initiatives are worth their time and effort).

Guildford: Challenge launched on rejected active travel plans The plans for London Road had the aim of encouraging more people to take up cycling and walking.

I had a look at the plans and to be honest they are not great in places, there are at least 2 bus boarders, a lot of compromises at crossings, shared pavements. I don't think it is a great scheme, it doesn't meet LTN 1/20 standards so Im surprised it was funded by ATE.

What is the actual reach though? There are many dormant accounts over there.

I think some of it may be.

Yes, I have also seen some promising business use in the industry where I work. I know @tomforth.co.uk has got some good use of the customer-facing version, though.

I do think generative AI has its uses, but in its customer facing form, like the Google version, it is an abomination.

Twitter is awful these days. I still check it, but very rarely engage.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #1,466,902!

That is the issue, there is so much dependent on the individual. I do report, but we need more proactiveness from local governments, although they are short of cash.

If you can find somebody you used to follow there just look at their followers. That is what I did.

We need better ticketing, more buses and cheaper, but we also need fewer cars in cities and towns, so that the buses can run on time.

We need this in Cambridge.

Have just followed most of those, so thank you, and thanks to @soundandfury.bsky.social for the tip!

Don't jinx it! 🤣 But honestly sounds good, it did look and feel remarkably like the old Twitter.

So, I am getting pretty fed up with Twitter (X) and trying to see how this one works.
