you would do new things in a new place *because* you are a curious person who wants to experience the world and that is what helps a person grow and change over time, not the place they are in

i've thought about this stuff a lot and what i think is: it would be a mistake to look at a new place as something that will suddenly, magically transform you into a whole new person BUT change is powerful and motivating when you've felt stuck!

youtube channel called Four Keys Book Arts. this guy makes books so painstakingly beautiful and detailed i have been moved to actual tears. start with Project Hail Andy, the Dune rebind series, or him rescuing a 130 year old book, whichever one feels most compelling
