As if we needed more proof it was a bit damp out in Wellington today, she approached me in the supermarket car park. #birds

And today we have a red rain warning and declared state of emergency for Wellington. Discovered as I came out of a client workshop to find a deserted office as we'd been told to go home. Not saying the weather was grim from but Fitbit says I set a pace record getting from the office to the station!
Weather continues to be.. lively. If I'd thought to bring the client laptop home with me on Friday, along with the company one, I'd be working from home today. Think I will be bringing it back with me this evening!
I was about to ask @aeshna.bsky.social if there was anywhere we needed to go today. However, pretty sure the answer is NO.
It's hammering down so hard the guys across the road have closed the door to their garage man cave!
Yes, I did but this because it reminded me of Tesco's Value branding! It is actually pretty nice though!
Great... Now I can ignore them locally too.
Recently stumbled across this video - a poem comprising a single sound, "shi", repeated 92 times, varying only in tone which changes its meaning. Amazing things, tonal languages.

It is also being offered in a bundle with Out Of Reach, in which you appear to play a shipwrecked pirate. Interesting combination!
This turned up in today's Steam Discovery Queue:
I Am Jesus Christ - "Walk in the footsteps of Jesus in this immersive first-person retelling of His life..."
Think I'll pass, 10% introductory discount not withstanding...

Now trying to imagine how a similar evacuation of Mid Valley or any other big KL mall would go!
Slightly livelier visit to North City than usual.
Found a stash of old SPI wargames online, including Mech War '77:
As a background to this game, a future history was written postulating a Soviet attack on the NATO forces in Germany. Derived from this history are eight scenarios....
Man, I feel old...
Up earlier than I'd like for a Saturday to watch Eastercon Iridescence programme items from the UK!
Turned up in my Steam discovery queue: Non-Euclidean Design - "Design your home in the non-Euclidean world."
What's the worst that could happen?

Season finale of Paradise season 2: whoa...
At Poirurua Park with @aeshna.bsky.social to see Wellington Phoenix women vs Western Sydney Wanderers. Bit damp out...
Wow. Six years already? Been a pretty mad six years...
Watching Spider-Man: Homecoming. Suddenly thought that the hotel on screen looked like the hotel I stayed in in Atlanta. Looked up filming locations and, yep, they include the Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Center. Place was clearly more memorable than I realized!
Heh. This IranianTours video from 7 months ago about visiting Kharg Island just turned up in my YouTube feed. I guess I have been watching a lot of videos about how many people may be heading there soon...

Be afraid, be very afraid - Steam Sale on. OTOH, it includes Tabletop Simulator which would provide access to all those converted SPI wargames. Think I'll have to give it a try!
There's clearly more people doing conversions than I realized, thanks!
I'm now wondering about Dragonquest (heard a bit about it but never really looked into it): be interesting to see how an SPI fantasy TTRPG would look!
Well, what do you know?
Or Jim Dunnigan's classic 1969 game of the Columbia University riots, Up Against The Wall. M***********!
Actually, the real challenge will be if I can find a copy of their Dallas RPG!
Went to the Lantern Festival display at the Wellington Botanic Gardens with @aeshna.bsky.social
And thank you West Ham!!!!
Sadly (?), there isn't a module available for that! There are a shedload of others though, including ones for the Central Front games (Fifth Corps, Hof Gap and BAOR)!
Catching up on Arsenal-Everton highlights. Probably best for my blood pressure I wasn't following live but better two late than too late! Does the second count as scoring from a corner (just an Everton one)?
Watching the reaction videos is also bringing home the difference a good microphone makes!
