California voters said a few years they wanted it to be permanent DST (like BC just did). But they need the federal government to pass a law allowing them to make the change.

Right now the current federal law on the books only allows states to adopt permanant Standard Time.

I'm increasingly of this opinion, yes. As much as I love being in one place with all my friends, you just end up running around all weekend and not sending quality time with any of them.

As frustrating as all that as a passenger who just wants to fly - there's good reason for it. The requirements imposed by Part 121/135 air carrier certificates are a big part of why commercial air travel is safe.

Otherwise, basic Part 91 private air travel is about as safe as riding a motorcycle… 😅

There are Part 135 charter flights, and that's legal. But lots of regulatory oversight involved on the business side.

Even with a commercial pilot's license, you can't fly people for profit unless either the customer supplies the aircraft, or you're operating under an air carrier certificate.

A company called Blackbird Air tried.

The FAA published a notice saying they considered it to be an illegal charter operation (since they didn't have a Part 119 certificate), and no pilot would touch it with a 10-foot pole since they'd risk losing their pilot's license.

The keyboard gets updated all the time. It's actually in Play Store (at play.google.com/store/apps/d...).

That said, I haven't heard of any updates that affect typing prediction - though the smart replies use an on-device LLM now.

As an MD, I know that at conception (see White House order wording, below) all humans begin as biological females, and then during development about half regress the ovaries and make male reproductive cells. At conception, though, zero have male reproductive cells. So, by law, we are all now female.
