I'm glad I dazzled you.

Nice looking paint jobs.
It took longer than I thought, but I've finished repainting my Ral Partha Mk4 prototype.
The pink dazzle disruptive camo scheme was inspired by the Swedish splinter pattern used on the Viggen.

Just as soon as I get my shit together.
Delighted to find both Shroud and Lives of Bitter Rain on the Locus shortlist this year, amongst some amazing company!
Oh gosh, Ian Watson has died. Met him several times and he was witty and erudite. He will be missed.
We went to Salute.
Highlights include playing What a Tanker;
Meeting Drew Edney of Slave2Gaming;
Listening to David Manley talking about professional wargaming;
And seeing a bunch of tables; plus what I splurged money to haul home.

Dave Hardwood drew issue four's cover, who also drew the cover, and a bunch of interior illustrations for OHMU War Machine.
This turned out to be a bumper final issue.

Wow. good job.
My pleasure.
Cheers. I have a thing for weird camo.
I knew some of these, but there are still lots of great tips here
I procrastinated over what to do about the front of this model being asymmetrical because it bugged the hell out of me.
Drastic solution. Tear down. rebuild.

It was, I was fair tuckered out.
And now I've put up a post with the pictures of my afternoon session at Herts of Lard.
I was playing Simon Hatch's What a Tanker 28mm game on a section of Joe Bilton's Caen 1944 table, which as you can see is an outstanding set-up.

Many years ago (oh my how time flies) I ran a BattleTech campaign called, Operation Sandbox, set on the Periphery planet of Mummerset.
House Steiner seeking mineral rights to mine Boron. The campaign was run using my quick play rules.

I've put up a post with the pictures I took of the morning session game at Herts of Lard, They mostly come at night…..mostly.
Played with modified What a Cowboy rules, using 28mm Alien miniatures from the boardgame, much fun was had.

Caveat, I'm mad about mecha, and there are not enough films with mecha, so I'm biased.
We watched this last night, and it had an alien mech chewing up a bunch of Ranger candidates on their last training day.
Total gonzo fun. Hope there's a sequel showing the bigger picture of the invasion.
Worth sharing, watch or don't watch, agree or disagree, you're free to choose.

It was fun though, because one has got to love a rampaging mech stomping around the countryside lowering property values.
As promised, I have now posted a bunch of pictures on my blog of the Herts of Lard day. I've added descriptions of the games with each picture.

It was. I have more pics, but need time to sort them out. Will post when I have done so.
Went and had a great day out at Herts of Lard @joewargamer.bsky.social
One has got to love the enthusiasm of fans.

I get all my Cherryh books from Forbidden Planet in Britain.
In a world where people gloop together some generative spudwazz and consider themselves creative, it does a soul good to see someone think, "Hey, how about recreating the Battle of the Mutara Nebula, but the Enterprise is the TOS one, oh, and it's model work? Yeah, let's do it." youtu.be/rHYVQCaNpjM
