Why do some people engage in deviant or criminal behavior while others do not?
Analyzing 74 personality traits in a large, diverse sample, we show that traits linked to low morality and short-term thinking are especially important for understanding deviance.

📄 So happy to finally see this paper in print!
TL;DR: Altruism and Parochialism can be (and should always be) measured independent of each other.
Personal take-away: never forget that results from Western samples don't automatically generalize! (Here,A&P are correlated in DEU&USA, but not in ETH.)
