Do you remember smog days? I do—those times when we couldn’t play outside. I don’t want that for my kids.
Manhattan smog: fog + pollutants. From 1971-77, the Documerica project captured 20,000 images of America’s environmental impact. Explore these through the National Archives. The photo below is from Documerica—join the movement! Let’s not forget our past, or we’re bound to repeat it.
Here’s a link to some comments I made on Jimmy Carter’s legacy on WTOP… scroll down a few interviews to hear my reflections on his generous soul and his certainty that every person matters… wtop.com/national/202...

After tense #COP29 talks, parties agreed on a new climate finance goal... but many argued the USD 300 billion/year was an “insult”

On Wednesday at #UNEA6 high-level dignitaries joined exhausted delegates.
Multilateral Environmental Agreement Day celebrated the interlinkages between environmental issues.
Negotiations on draft resolutions were far from celebratory but marched on.
Delegates at #OECPR6 meeting in three parallel sessions felt the pressure of Friday's looming deadline.
However, by mid Thursday, the working groups were still contending with bracketed text on contentious issues such as armed conflict and jurisdiction of the high seas.
As freezing rain fell on #CMSCOP14, delegates deftly negotiated the slippery terrain of #deepseamining, the new Strategic Plan for #MigratorySpecies, and the budget.
As CMS Executive Secretary Fraenkel put it, the result was "the best COP ever."
