I've only ever seen it with the Cinematic Orchestra score, but that version is one of my favorite films of all time, especially if you like breakbeats: letterboxd.com/echoparallax/film/man-wi...

Jesus wept.

I just called my US rep and senators and told them they have to do everything they can to stop this genocide. I told them I don't care if they're in the minority. They have options. I told them to chain themselves to the White House fence.

Please call your reps, too. reps.fyi

That's right! We went beyond the LCD pixels of the GBA for the wild compo! My recently bought DS Lite finally had a good use.

A Blender editor showing the scene setup: a camera looks at many panes of glass, which reflect textures modulated by thresholded Perlin noise. On the top-left is a shader node graph that chooses a random IOR, and tints the color on the first bounce with that of a random wavelength. (Azra uses transmission depth instead of camera rays to choose whether to apply the tint, which is better.)

here's what it looks like in the editor! The setup is from the [StudioCanal Behind The Scenes video](https://www
youtube.com/watch?v=8i8OcOpFDAE), and the material for the glass is pretty close to @azra.dev 's [Blender dispersion node graph](

The text "page fault" in Utopia Std Italic, a font with a good amount of variation in stroke weight, surrounded by vertical panes of glass reflecting and refracting images from two projects I worked on. Chromatic aberration smears some edges while others are high-contrast. There is also a glitch-like effect going through the middle of the words "page fault".

I finally figured out how to do the 2010's Studiocanal logo setup in Blender!

If there's a chance of mail reaching their engineering team, I'm somehow only a few kilometeres away from their headquarters now and would be happy to send a letter! (Also mostly I think it would be very funny to send a letter to SoundCloud about a bug reported on Bluesky)

Lenticular lens shader

Lenses are raymarched right now, but I'll try analytical ray intersections later. After getting the refracted direction, I do a ray plane intersection. Calculate the expected ray direction for a given position on the plane under each lens, then raymarch a 3D scene.

Umeboshi onigiri drizzled with soy sauce and furikake in a frying pan.

Umeboshi onigiri drizzled with soy sauce and furikake in a frying pan.

Homemade onigiri, undisclosed location. After I returned from the previous trip I went on a tear trying to make my own onigiri at home. Even though there are more complicated flavors, my favorite is still umeboshi onigiri.

Proper onigiri is much harder to find here in... see complete post

A triangular rice ball, dipped in sauce then grilled with a piece of cheese on top (I forget what kind unfortunately) and sprinkled with minced parsley, if I remember correctly.

Grilled onigiri with cheese, やきとり大吉伏見稲荷店 (Yakitori Daikichi), Kyoto, Japan. This wound up being one of the most memorable things I had on my trip back in 2024; I didn't expect the melted cheese to work so well! So much about it speaks to the skill of the chef.

The front of a library card from thr VÖBB, the Verbund der Öffentluchen Bibliotheken Berlins (literal translation: Alliance of Public Libraries of Berlin). Their website is https://voebb.de. It's pictured on my leg inside a tram because I can't figure out how to take good pictures of me holding things.
