There are advantages to taking loans earlier in the game. The effective interest rate is lower the lower a player's income is. Timing is important, though, because a player only gets two actions per turn and taking a loan uses up one of them.

as it becomes clear that Yes has won in VA and gerrymandering will pass, a message to Republican voters:
you brought this on yourselves
you convinced the most fairness-obsessed, That Wouldn’t Be Fair-minded voters in the country to affirmatively vote to put you in the dumpster
you earned this
Not to argue with the importance of credit, but at least in the board game sphere, there are lots of economic games that allow players to take loans at any time, notably including the #1 game on BGG, Brass: Birmingham.

In all seriousness, the discourse spends way too much time arguing about how strict the legal and surveillance enforcement measures for reckless driving should be when it could just argue for putting way more speed bumps on roads with low speed limits.
As someone old enough for the tail end of seeing things like that on the road, that car is hideous.
This overshoots the reasonable. I'm for "there should be no restrictions whatsoever," but I still think one would be an asshole to tell someone that had to abort a wanted child b/c of an issue with either their own or the fetus' health that they should be "openly proud". That's not compassion.
Also, I don't get counted as a D voter in the early vote counts, because my primary voting history in VA is D in 2008 and 2020, R in 2012, 2016, and 2024, even though I've never voted for a Republican in a general election in my life.
I don't know how today's vote will go, but I do know that both my wife and I voted for nonpartisan maps last time around and for gerrymandering the Republicans into oblivion this time. (Plus both of my children were old enough to vote "yes" this time, too.)
Slay the Spire 2: 28-minute victorious Necrobinder run with 16 copies of Hang+ in the deck.
Clone (of Hang+) + Lighter + seven 1hp encounters on the third floor = #sts2 insanity:
Good riddance to Molly Shah, a lying con artist.
Need a campaign to make the excerpt from Going Postal where Mr. Pump points out the consequences of Moist von Lipvig's "nonviolent" crimes part of the required reading curriculum in schools.
I fear I am going to tap this sign often.

Substantive wrongness can be persuasive, but it makes no sense to claim the *style* is wrong if it's dangerously persuasive.
Republicans are underweighting the possibility that the Iran crisis is still going on in November 2026 and Democrats are underweighting that it's still going on in January 2029.
Am 47 and grew up in a suburb. I assure you, it's not just the zoomers who had never heard of this before the last few days.
I'm puzzled how it can simultaneously be both wrong and so persuasive that you fear it breaking containment.
I am by natural disposition inclined to be skeptical of AI, but the anti-AI arguments on Bsky are so incredibly bad that they have measurably pushed me in the other direction.
There are many antisemitic assholes doing "all lives matter" in the replies here, but this one is a special kind of stupid:
Run history for an A5 Necrobinder attempt where the doormaker was defeated on turn 25, but the Necrobinder took zero damage.
*Osty* still had 20/87 hp at the end of the final boss battle in this A5 StS2 run. I was untouched.
Is there any non-outrageous explanation why humane lethal injection has been so elusive for humans when we seem to be able to painlessly euthanize elderly pets without difficulty?
I think lead exposure levels is a more parsimonious explanation.
Hungary is a more conservative country than the United States (by a lot). It should not actually be necessary to run the US equivalent of Magyar here.
RIP to dead CEO guy who has been outdone by a literal birdbrain.
Count me as another single-issue voter where the issue is "consequences".
Good movie, but nothing is close to The Irony of Destiny in popularity.
They don't inhabit consensus reality. I suspect this result is a genuine surprise to Vance('s Nazi group chats).
The stats people are obviously correct that people are wealthier now, but I actually find it perfectly plausible that people were happier during the Great Recession, when nobody ever had to think about Donald Trump.
Yay for the good guys, but what the fuck is that bar graph? That's Fox News-tier data misrepresentation.
