A bit early, but…
Day 20 - A song with a fade-out ending.
Uncertain Smile — The The
I’m short and frequently get bopped in the face. Bags of veggies aren’t too bad, but solid blocks of tofu or spinach leave me with so much regret.
Or when things start sliding out at you!
I think they were clearing the Boyce Farmers Market lot. It lasted over an hour.
Looking forward to giving this paper (alongside also being nervous af 🫠)
Leaf blower wake-up at 7:15 am on a Sunday morning? Not impressed, but it’s 10:30 am now and I’ve already managed to do a load of dishes and laundry, play with the cats long enough to tire one of them out, make delicious coffee and get some banana walnut muffins into the oven.

Image of clear blue sky beside a sliver of office building.
The sky when I stepped out of the office today. Dare I say it?
Wow!
My babies. Losing my two sweeties last year after 12+ years to cancer nearly killed me. Muriel was adopted in early May last year and estimated to be 3-4 years old. Hollis was adopted at the end of November and was estimated to be almost 6 months old. He’s taller than her now. I love them so much.
There’s no such thing as being overly-fascinated with it! I read an article this week about scientists saying sperm whales have language similar to ours and saying we’re on the way to deciphering it. How amazing is that?
We pretty much play on and off all evening. He and his sister almost always wake up before sunrise for a bit regardless. Often they’ll just play with each other until I get up. This morning he kept bringing me a toy to throw for him and he eventually wore me down and I got up. Heheh!
I used to have Merlin and then ran out of storage space on my phone and deleted it at the start of winter. I may have to free up more space to get it again.
It’s neat to hear the morning calls of different birds returning as the season changes.
Still-a-kitten Hollis doesn’t understand why I don’t want to get up at 5 am to play with him.
One of my remote WFH coworkers today said to me “I know you’re not a hugger, so I’ll just shoulder bump you” and proceeded to do so. But the truth is that I’m definitely a hugger with people I like.
All-day work meetings — especially in new locations — are exhausting. I hate having to be “on” all day. I got home an hour earlier than usual and have been a vegetable. I need to make dinner but just want to sleep.
I’m so incredibly sorry! I lost two cats to cancer last year who’d been with me since I’d adopted them in 2013. It’s gut-wrenching. Much love and strength to you.
This is what he submitted as his website to Elections NB:
I thought I had perhaps missed something, when near the end I heard the interviewer asking him whether his current concerns keep him up at night.
I was excited at the idea of a third candidate running for mayor locally until I heard bits of an interview with him this morning where he discussed his platform. He mentioned concerns about a dam breach, bringing up the possibility of a missile hit, the need for bomb shelters…
I hate waking up at 6-7 am during the week, but love it on Saturday mornings.
Fingers crossed, spacefaring friends! We’re all biting our nails, maybe sipping on adult drinks, letting our kids stay up, hoping.
I woke up to this the other morning. My loves.
