Britain gives far too much leeway to religious (mostly Christian) extremists. If the UK government was credible it would be clarifying the Equality Act to make it so that having a protected characteristic does not mean you can discriminate against another protected characteristic.

For most UK trans people its really easy to change the gender on almost all documents. You just need a letter with a specific wording from a doctor. They don't even need to be a gender doctor.
The main issue is there's no nb recognition and it takes years to get a birth certificate updated.
