"That's not the fight right now": Democrats shut down talk of impeaching Trump this year "People are pissed and know we have to fight," one senior House Democrat told Axios.

They do not get to decide what the fight is.

There is no AI powered carbon capture wall… it’s made up. No need to figure out the technology they used because it doesn’t exist :)

Next time just say “Dearborn” so you can discredit yourself quicker.

Wait, You are the one who quoted Amodei and his “thought experiment” (your words) regarding Gross Margins first lolol 😂.

“Just trust us” in a nicer way. Got it.

Posting about Ed Zitron every 3 days sounds like a lot of work. You should get a hobby instead.

Except the “accounting fact” in question was Ed pointing out that Amodei was riffing about gross margins (using “stylized facts”) and that you admitted was a thought experiment and not a financial statement (you and Ed in agreement there) and yet you still persist in embarrassing yourself.

I assumed he was just having a bad night but his persistence this morning makes me think that arguing with “idiots” bluesky is an important part of his job (to keep the ai vibes going and discredit the haters).

He’s saying that you are embarrassing yourself. He’s saying if the technology stood on it’s own you wouldn’t be here arguing with a journalist. (I didn’t even need to ask Claude to help me with this)

Well, I’m convinced. The “just trust us” argument is working!

I am very sad to learn that one of the founders of Facebook is a prick with reading comprehension problems (and also sensitive to being called a “billionaire”). I’ve seen The Social Network a few times and this news comes as a complete shock.

I’ve witnessed the venture psychosis first-hand tonight in the comments!

I’m sorry you understood “billionaire” to be a slur. I only meant it as a factual statement (you are a billionaire, no?) and implying that you aren’t a credible source on this matter because of your financial incentives.

The guy who seems the most angry on this thread is the guy who stands to lose the most money when the AI bubble pops. (And he’s desperately trying to discredit the facts and the people who present them.)

I’d recommend re-reading this thread to see who made the mistakes with reading comprehension. You like to throw around words like “idiot” when you are the guy who can’t seem to make sense of this conversation.

I’ve been following the AI business as best as a dummy non-tecg billionaire can and Ed Zitron brings receipts to his arguments whereas you seem to just bring condescension and vibes. But I hope Ed is wrong because this bubble bursting is going to hurt guys like me a lot more than guys like you.

As a layperson, I read that quote to say “We could/should have favorable accounting tricks in the next year or so if our predictions about demand going up are correct but in the meantime we’re burning a lot of cash with the hope that our demand predictions come true”

Quote from Dario Amodei: Think about it this way. Again, these are stylized facts. These numbers are not exact. I’m just trying to make a toy model here. Let’s say half of your compute is for training and half of your compute is for inference. The inference has some gross margin that’s more than 50%.

So what that means is that if you were in steady-state, you build a data center and if you knew exactly the demand you were getting, you would get a certain amount of revenue. Let’s say you pay $100 billion a year for compute. On $50 billion a year you support $150 billion of revenue. The other $50 billion is used for training. Basically you’re profitable and you make $50 billion of profit. Those are the economics of the industry today, or not today but where we’re projecting forward in a year or two.

Here is the quote from Amodei… not seeing the lie in what Ed said. Ed says Amodei called it “stylized facts” which is exactly what the quote says. Maybe I’m not enough of a tech billionaire to understand?

Which ai companies are profitable? Is there a list that I can read with publicly available financial info?

1 week ago 9 0 2 0

Yeah @edzitron.com just trust the billionaire who clearly knows better. If only you would listen to the folks perpetuating the AI scam then you’d understand!

He’s clearly talking to the VCs who he needs to convince to give him more money to prop up the Ponzi scheme he’s running… but at the expense of the customers who will need to pay for his services in order to make the VCs their money back. Quite the conundrum!
