Not only does this video detail Jackie Dupont-Walker's *extreme* conflict of interest that is driving this whole crisis, but I've also obtained Bass's motion, which she claims will 'not delay,' but which - fun fact! - will cause a huge delay. Full-on doublespeak territory.
Super interesting strategy to release this statement without also providing the actual text of your motion with flagrantly contradicts your 'full steam ahead' statement!

When I first heard about the Charter Reform process that LA was undertaking, I was so naively hopeful about it all. Now whenever I hear about it, it's cause the commission has been a total mess 😭
The LA Charter Reform Commission's Ad Hoc Committee finally executed their reform purge. Time to fight back.

Oh man, I actually love this idea. Why should adults be the only ones making decisions for them? They should have a voice, and this is a great way to active them in important processes like voting at an earlier age. Give them the opportunity to buy into their future and I think you’ll be surprised.
Some support in Los Angeles for lowering the voting age for school board elections specifically.

The key recommendations read: "RECOMMENDATION That the Council, subject to the approval of the Mayor: 1. Authorize the City Administrative Officer, or designee, to execute an Eighth Amended and Restated Agreement to Contract No. C-133453 with Ernst & Young Infrastructure Advisors, LLC to provide financial advisory, project management, and other professional services to support the City with the Los Angeles Convention Center Expansion and Modernization Project. The Amendment will extend the term by nine months from September 17, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and increase the maximum compensation amount by $22,163,301, from $19,836,699 to $42,000,000; and, 2. Direct the City Administrative Officer and Bureau of Engineering to meet on a monthly basis with principals"
