Oh no this is extremely, extremely complicated.

I think there’s a bug somewhere in the bluestation UMAC code though. The PDP activate PDU is huge (like 500 bits) so goes over three fragments (56 in the initial MAC ACCESS, then two more full slot fragments in reserved slots) but the last one seems to be lost 80% of the time.
Holy shit I got the radio to send an `SN-ACTIVATE PDP CONTEXT DEMAND` PDU after much fiddling around with options in the codeplug. Now I just need to… implement the whole SNDCP protocol. :blobfoxcofe:

“Sad news. My friend Simon who did the original bird for Twitter, Octocat for GitHub and Redid Sammy The Shark for DigitalOcean has passed away, he was 56.
He was a great guy. What a loss.”

Started playing around with TETRA packet data stuff. Didn’t get anywhere. Crikey like half the air interface spec is devoted to it… not even sure where to begin.
I just need to figure out what the fucking screws are now. They aren't M2.5 or M3. Both of those fit but bind up after a few turns. Feels like a weird pitch? UNC? Erfff.
yes the pin numbering is absolutely insane
A little PCB labelled ST-Conn.
Nowhere seems to stock the cable anymore so... yeah... should be here next week.
I love this teal-blue colour Motorola are using for soldermask these days, it's a vibe.
FTR I'm thinking top left is GND, 2 & 3 are data, rightmost is VBUS.
Some pictures of the insides of a radio and connectors with writing on them.
feel like this is the ham radio/hacker equivalent of the "crazy guy pointing at pinboard with web of string-connected notes" meme
upshot: I think I know which pins are VBUS/GND/USBD+/USBD- now.
Anybody in Deutschland heard of "Axcom"? https://www.axcom-shop.com/ & https://axcom-battery-technology.de/
save me, dodgy german battery supplier, you're my only hope

ESN is supposedly a LTE/5G MVNO/network slice running on top of EE, with a layer providing PTT, group calls, prioritisation etc.
I just can't imagine how that's going to perform better than what we have today. Latency? Coverage (lots of places in the sticks have no LTE still).
I can't imagine […]

A _lil_ bit disappointing to see El Reg playing into the narrative that this change is worthwhile or in any way needed. ESN sounds like it has all the makings of being the UK's worst "Big Government IT Project" yet.
The implication that things haven't moved on in the […]

SPAR Dear Customers, If you use our cornettos for a Madonna impression you must then purchase them. Thank you.
Reasonable.
@lobo always
Oh dude this isn’t Mini-GCAI at all. I was under the impression that it was the same on all the newer radios but this is fucking different. Honestly… the hilarious thing is it’s mostly USB too.
