The three categories of rating media I find.

It explains why I and I think others give the 1st movie in a series more leeway even though you are comparing them together regardless of time period. It's cause I respect the originality of the first and what they tried, and the context surrounding when they tried it.

Not all fiction is created equally, and I recognize it isn't necessarily just love or enjoyment that put it so high, but a secret third criteria I never think about.

It is the third criteria I was always missing to explain why I held certain movies I like less higher

It feels weird cause I mostly subscribe to the "if I enjoy it more, it's better" crowd, but then I run into certain movies like Jacob's Ladder where even if I fucking adore Bullet Train it just feels wrong... to put it above it.

There are certain movies that people run into where you certainly have other movies you like more, but you just can't under any semblance or reason or consciousness in your mind place it lower than your favorite. That is my relationship with Jacob's Ladder

This creature is awesome it reminds me of a Pikmin creature. I can envision how it moves and breathes. It unsettled me thinking about it.

Amazing sparing use of color that makes me weirdly hunger to look at it more to find those spots of color, weird feeling that I never felt before for an art piece. Also, great negative space usage

While I don't like previous parts encroaching on the current I just need some semblance of closure for that one specific plot point no matter how small

I love this design. My favorite part are the tassles on the top combined with the swirls almost giving the feeling of eyes. That vibe of going from organic to inorganic to personification gives a real whimsical yet uncanny feeling, love that shit.

Also does Bluesky not have like a spoiler or blur image thing that isn't just tagging it as suggestive or adult or something?

Ever have one of those stories you are really passionate about and want to tell, but at the same time are a little scared because it requires delicate writing to not ruin and tell the complete opposite intended message?

Cause I have like at least 3 of those stories buzzing around in the mind

Instead we have Caato come back and wrap it up partially unsatisfying (I still like the ending for a few elements like the Yasuho and Gappy and the epilogue with Joseph). Either way still probably my second favorite part in all of Jojo with the highest highs and lowest lows of Jojo

Hell you could go farther and have the final fight instead start with Jobin vs Gappy and then get taken over by Wonder of U in which Jobin dies and along with the other sacrifices have Josuke realize where all this strife and conflict is causing. WE WERE SO CLOSE TO PEAK.

Then it hit me, the way to fix that would be to have Gappy make the decision to heal Tsurugi. Give him two reasons, because Holly would of wanted it and because Tsurugi (and the Higashikata's) are his family as well. It reaffirms his identity and wraps it up in a bittersweet way.

Ngl looking back on the ending of Jojolion continues to frustrate me. One of my favorite Jojo parts with this little chip that keeps on bugging me. This time I was thinking about how unsatisfying it was for Holly to just not be saved especially after Gappy's heart warming speech.

I really love the graphic design elements in this. The grainy texture contrasts the vibrant purple and how it boxes you in to focus on the character but still leaves room to breathe. I strikes a weird balance where it isn't loud nor does it hurt my eyes and I can see the characters clearly. 👍

There have been times where I have scrolled through my feed saw a cool artist go to follow and find out I already followed them. Idk why but it pisses me off everytime it happens lol

I think this is just genuine positive growth for Denji and soon the story will transition back to Asa's problems for awhile. While some could interpret his running as meaning he is running from his problems it feels to me that Denji is running towards the future, a goal, he is moving on.

I think a lot of people got a bad vibe cause he says "New Family" but you can have multiple sisters and stuff, he is replacing them in the fact that he is making new deep connections, but he isn't ignoring or dumping those past relationships in his heart. Denji is an empathetic person at heart

Many people are seeing this as unhealthy, but this is the healthiest thing you can do. Cry and then move on, don't let your past tragedies define you and stop you from making more new connections. Literally a positive spin and response on Makima's statement that gave Denji despair
