We argue that such ‘spatial logic’ of urban informalities is underpinned by several intersecting factors: market + capital, governance regimes, urban morphology, and image + visibility.

We deploy the notion of 'inventraset' to show how informal street vending, transport and settlement are fundamentally integrated with each other and the more formal city.
