The image shows a rectangular Roman dice tower (turricula) made of four copper alloy (bronze) plates with punched cut-out Latin letters and cut-out decorative patterns. At the bottom front is a stepped exit chute with small bronze bells attached to the opening. The tower is a Roman anti-cheating device. It has an open top and is hollow inside except for three staggered, downward-sloping plates, designed to randomize dice as they fall, ensuring unpredictable dice rolls. When the dice rolled out of the exit chute they rang the bells! There is a decorative dolphin either side of the stepped exit chute. The top of the front plate has two decorative pine cone finials. Height 25 cm. There is a single die shown next to the stepped base to illustrate how it was used.
The front inscription reads:
PICTOS VICTOS
HOSTIS DELETA
LVDITE SECVRI
Translated as: âThe Picts defeated, the enemy has been destroyed, play in safetyâ.
Around the top of the three remaining sides, a second inscription made with cut out letters reads:
âUTERI/FELIX/VIVASâ translated as âUse happily; may you live wellâ.
Found at a Roman villa at Froitzheim in Germany in 1985.
Roman anti-cheating gaming accessory!
This Roman âturriculaâ (dice tower) was used to ensure a fair roll of the dice! đ˛đ˛đ˛
Dice dropped into the top, tumbled over sloping internal levels, and appeared randomly below.

Itâs shocking to learn that from the end of WW2 until the 1970s, people blamed governments for unemploymentânot the unemployed.
Then the ruling class embraced supply side economics, engineered higher joblessness to discipline labour, and recast structural failure as individual moral defect.

The thing about Bill Gates confessing, publicly, to pedophilia is that if a *normal* person did that, they'd experience immediate consequences. They'd be arrested immediately for doing so.
It reminds me of how in the US self-defense is an affirmative defense: it is saying "I did it, but ___"

Dear Lucy
On the eve of the by-election, your Labour party spokesperson has admitted to the Huffington Post that a
Labour party leaflet has been delivered through doors with your imprint recommending a vote for Labour
by a tactical voting organisation which does not exist.
This is deeply troubling, it is actually lying to voters. Did you approve this? Do you feel the Labour Party
in government should be held to different standards in terms of honesty to the British public?
In your last letter to me you mentioned your âvery extensive dataâ and âhaving spoken to over a third of
eligible votersâ which led you to an understanding that the by election âwas a contest between labour and
Reformâ. Clearly this latest development only tells voters one thing - you will employ any type of
political deception (or in Urdu âDhokaâ ) to win.
You will be very aware that all three real tactical voting organisations are recommending a vote for the
Greens as the best way to stop Reform. Lying to the voters, as you have been caught doing, raises the real
prospect that Reform will be the beneficiaries, something you have said that you donât want.
As this is such an important issue, for the sake of your own reputation, I would strongly urge you to
apologise to the voters of Denton and Gorton before the polls open in the morning.â
Kind regards,
Zack Polanski
Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales
Dear @lucympowell.bsky.social,
Why did you invent a fake tactical voting company to stop the Green Party beating Reform?
I'm starting to think your letters haven't always been in good faith...

"they won't actually ban birth control"
"they won't actually murder trans people"
"they won't actually end abortion"
"they won't actually try to overthrow the government"
I am so sick of people treating these folks as rational actors with rules from the previous century expecting norms to save them

i'm kinda convinced the single point of origin for the medical consensus on absurdly low doses of estrogen for trans women is ray blanchard's sexual fetish for underdeveloped little girl breasts

One thing that makes me absolutely fucking crazy is when I say my life will be easier when my daughter can have conversations and move herself around and interact and people go âyeah except then you wonât be able to get her to shut upâ as if thatâs not preferable to a fucking infant

Getting Global Age Assurance Right: What We Got Wrong and What's Changing
Discord's CTO addresses community concerns about age assurance: no mass ID collection, new vendor transparency commitments, and a delayed global launch until second half of 2026.
"So yea we got caught trying to take advantage of you again.
We'll let it go for now but hopefully in 6 months you'll forget so we can sneak it back in after everyone has forgotten!"

This day in history. 35. Pharisee Saul of Tarsus had an experience on the road to Damascus which turned him into the Christian apostle Paul. It was sunstroke, temporal lobe epilepsy, or mood disorder associated psychotic spectrum manifestations; I can't imagine what else it could have been.

Look, I believe in casts, but if a parent has strongly-held anti-cast beliefs, they should be allowed to let their kidâs broken arm grow back all floppy and fucked up, even to the point of lifelong, debilitating pain. And thatâs not child abuse because a kidâs bones are their parentsâ property

The history of reconstruction is one of failure.
Congress overturning presidential veto after veto in order to attempt reconstruction, *impeaching* a president over this.
And then it was fully killed by 1876.

itâs 2007.
a closeted trans girl in texas is booting up Mass Effect 1 and choosing to (obviously) play as FemShep.
she names her Emma Shepard.
it takes her 15 years from this point to come out. đ
the reason i'm so passionate about helping trans kids today is so this never happens to anyone else.

i feel like if you're too afraid to say no to the new gestapo on something like verifying their account and legitimizing their place on your website, you should probably consider either moving your HQ or just shutting shit down completely.

This and that Luddite kid they tortured to death who with his dying breath asked the priest "can you keep a secret" and then when the priest leaned in said "so can I" and died are the two ends of the spectrum of the coolest shit you can say after being tortured
Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
