Wouldn't that be mashed potatoes then?

I missed you too ๐
Depends on when the last time you saw me. ๐ ๐
Do you like the things I talk about? Do you want to support my work? Do you want to support a community-oriented med student on their path to becoming a physician?

Thank you to those who joined me in my twitch stream tonight (and got to meet my dog)!
For those who missed out, we had a good time and talked about The Pitt, stuff that happens in the ER, and my recent post and subscription drive on my Patreon.

New post up on my Patreon.
As the weather heats up, so will things on the street. So what better way to start things off than talking about IFAKs, an important piece of equipment for every street medic and activist in today's climate?

When you leave that out, SDOH just becomes a meaningless term. The point of talking about SDOH is to directly call out how poverty, malnutrition, and health disparities are driven by policies, enforced by the police, and suffered variably along a sliding scale of vulnerability
When we talk about social determinants of health in medical school and nursing school, it's absolutely essential that instructors mention that these inequalities are artificial. They're created and enforced throughout society as a mechanism of oppression against marginalized ppl
Relatedly, my Patreon helps keep me afloat while I'm navigating medical school as a Trans student with cancer.

While I'm not supposed to work, finances suck as a med student so I rolled the dice & applied for a couple jobs and got rejected from all of them because I'm a med student.
So I guess I need to have a bit of a support drive for my Patreon to stay afloat

With that said, if you actually want to sponsor me and you have a cool patch, I have a spare white coat and I'll 100% turn that thing into a Nascar jacket with patches from supporters. ๐
I wish med schools had sponsors. Though I suspect that it would turn into some sort of hunger games scenario...which would just incentivize the gunners to be worse people in med schools.
So this is the closest thing to having sponsors as I'm gonna get.
The cost for a paid subscription is $5 (or more if you wish). What you get is to watch me grow as a healthcare worker and eventually flourish as an emergency medicine physician dual hatting as a primary care physician in low-access populations.
While my overall goal is continuing to provide free content, I could really use the help to make sure that my housing and healthcare remain stable while I'm a student and unable to hold a full-time job.
Currently I make like $85-90/mo via Patreon. To make ends meet, or at least break even, I'd need to get at least 250-300 paid followers. This would at least cover my health insurance which, besides housing, is my largest monthly expense and has been since my CA diagnosis in 2024

There is also a paid option which supports me as a medical student navigating medical school while also navigating my cancer diagnosis. โค๏ธ
Paid subscription is not required to access content, it just supports me as I'm not able to work as a med student.
If you're interested in the things I talk about and the videos I put out to provide medical and healthcare education, please feel free to subscribe. Subscriptions are free.
New post with an extra emphasis on the energy embargo on Cuba and it's impact on medical infrastructure. I'll probably be editing here and there over the next few days (between classes and all other things).

Sorry for the lack of posting on Patreon and Twitch. Some stuff ๐ง happened in my community and it collided with the end of my block and I couldn't get to it. I'll be returning soon.
Thanks to those of you sticking with me.

Yup. I noticed that I caught a few blocks after basically saying "racism is bad, but you can't combat racism with ableism."
I think she legit blocked all of us who have Tourette's that tried to point out what she was saying was wrong.
Also...did you notice the "former special education teacher" in her bio? She knew what she was doing.
