I think it’s notable that some of the first real limits on the use of generative AI were brought to us by labor. Not Congress. Not “ethical” AI shops nestled inside big tech companies. A union.
I think the most heartbreaking piece of this is that the math they are eliminating is required to major and professional succeed in STEM fields. You don’t fix pipeline issues but just removing the pipe!
And as a parent I know this: those with resources will get additional instruction. Private schools will continue to offer higher level math coursework.

And as a parent I can assure you, the parents who can afford additional instruction will ensure their kids get that instruction. Private school will not stop teaching upper level math.
