I'll give it a few more weeks before cancelling my hotel and expo tickets in case my mood changes. Though given how miserable and stressed work is making me, I don't see that happening. (5/5)

3) I could buy a bunch of games that aren't much better than the games that I currently have and won't see much table time.

I might as well save the money and use the week I've got booked off of work to write more of my novel.

I guess I'm not in a good head space at the moment. ☹️ (4/5)

2) Another point of Expo is socialising. I've been doing that a *lot* lately and it doesn't change the loneliness of going back to an empty house after you're done. I doubt being out of the house for more days will be any different. (3/5)

1) Symphonies probably won't be ready in time for the show - even if it was, I doubt I'd pitch it to publishers, so what's the point? I was extremely lucky with Dwarven Beerfest as I had @davidjmortimer.bsky.social pitching it on my behalf. I'm not someone who has pitching in my skillset. (2/5)

I think I missed the deadline for volunteering at the play test zone for UK Games Expo. I'm wondering whether to actually go to UK Games Expo now. (1/5)

With an average rating of 8.1 on BoardGameGeek it's highly rated and a blast to play. The standard version features unetched ships.

Tonight the writing group I've joined were going through how to set up your amazon account to sell your books. I've completed first draft of chapter 1, so I think it'll be a while before I need to use that but was interesting 🙂

I really wish there was a Babylon 5 board game.

It cannot be overstated how much hobby gamers underestimate how unintuitive and difficult hobby games are to non-gamers.

This is perhaps even more true of professional game designers, publishers and reviewers/pundits, broadly speaking.

I don't get this whole "McSweeny masterminded Labour's election victory in 2024" . Labour LOST 560,335 votes from 2019 to 2024. You might say that McSweeny managed to target votes more efficiently, but I think it's more to do with the fact that the Tories LOST over 7 MILLION votes from 2019 to 2024

Yesterday, I attended a follow on course from the how to write a novel course I attended 6-7 years ago. Gonna try and finish writing my novel this year. It was also great just to meet new people. There were 12 of us all at different stages of writing their books.

Doing chores while I'm single. I was always the one who did the cleaning in the house so that hasn't changed. I am starting to actually like cooking for myself, so that's good. But changing the duvet cover on my own. Blimey, I don't know whether I'm an idiot but it takes me far too long to do it. 😕

I've only ever played it once (UK Games Expo a few years back) and had an absolute blast. I've run it several times (1st edition). The group I ran it for really enjoyed it. I enjoyed running it but wish there'd been better advice about icon rolls.

Earlier this year I started reading Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy. I vowed to finish reading them before the end of the year. I finished them about 10 minutes ago. Didn't think it would be such a close run thing. 🤣 Guess the cancer got in the way a bit.
