McDonald's makes poutine better than so many other Canadian places, and I feel insulted as a Canadian to admit this...
(Do you know there's a subreddit just for poutine crimes? Canadians shouldn't be in that subreddit, yet... there we are...)

(Such a plan probably exists already, but I can't find it in the forums or the relevant GitHub Issues/PRs.)
While the bundles aren't necessarily an issue to deal with, having a Terminal program to manage all of that for you automatically would be ideal, at least in my opinion. I'm curious to know if there are plans to do something as ambitious as that.
I'd be great if swiftly was able to:
1) Work on Windows (instead of relying on the installer... but the installer can stay), and
2) Had automatic options to easily download the (if I remember the name correct) artifact bundles specific for things like SwiftWasm.
Also which game is this? Endfield? NTE?
Yes, they exist, and it’s frustrating how annoying they are.
Many are some of the same people who demands that Apple replace iPadOS with macOS (which I’m also strongly against). I don’t know what the hell their agenda is.
Does… does it not have a pity system?
Never actually thought people outside of Canada would be interested in listening to Canadian podcasts. That’s actually pretty cool.
… the Canadian broadcasting TV station?
Well, you worked hard. Great work this week. Please continue to give yourself a treat when you can.
Any food ideas in mind?
I realize many would rather not deal with politics when reading my posts. This is fair; I did promise that and I pretty much broke that promise. But my feelings about this are genuine, and I hope you share my frustrations, even if it’s a tiny bit.
Once again, sorry for the rant: I suppose this was boiling up all this time and that news article (+ an article I can’t find about the UK trying to teach parents to talk to their kids about online safety… which they could have done WITHOUT the age verification laws) made me explode a little.
Bloody hell…
Again: apologies for the politically charged post thread. It’s just that I saw this in my news feed and I saw red. I’m pissed off at this acceleration of age verification because *we don’t need it!* We have *better, privacy-facing tools NOW*! Governments are just too lazy to teach parents!
Privacy lets us have freedom to have the space to think, debate, and grow without constantly being observed. We’re not lab rats or royal fools, nor do I refuse to be one. If *you* want to lose your freedom and be a lab rat or royal fool, I won’t stop you. Just leave me out of it.
And before you go “I have nothing to hide!”, ask yourself these two questions:
1. Who gets power if privacy disappears?
2. How might that power be used later?
I just feel like I’m going to have to move to a different country altogether to get away from this.
The US, UK, EU member states, Australia, and other countries rushing to build these stupid, immature, privacy-violating, insecure, lying, scheming age assurance tools should be ashamed of themselves. Even Canada’s considering it!
They truly did read “1984” and thought “these are some great ideas!”
My goodness, for a country that the west considers problematic because they have a lot of content that they think is bad, Japan really has a lot of countries beat on a ton of things, including the privacy of their citizens.
You are much better off having parental controls. It’s of my understanding that Japan has decided not to take the route the world seems to be going and instead teaching parents on protecting their kids. Because they *actually* care about privacy.
“But their app is private!” And they did a rushed job at it. It’s massively sloppy based on that article.
I’m sorry for bringing up politics here, but this has been a massive thorn on my side. Age verification laws are actually surveillance laws. *PEROID*. I don’t care if it’s the EU doing it: it’s for surveillance.
“[…] We cannot agree to the step-by-step creation of a Chinese-style internet in Europe.”
YOU DON’T SAY!!!
Here’s an idea. Since you’re so insistent on this, why don’t you just… put parental controls on the router level? Just do *that*! Mandate it to *law*! And teach parents how to use it. Make it *mandatory* for router manufacturers to make it dead simple to use for parents!
The green one that looks nearly distinguishable from leaves is probably my favourite one.
Well done with the photography! 👍
I have a slight fear of moths (I know it's irrational; no need to remind me 😅), but I gotta say: the way you've taken these photos make them all look really pretty!
To be honest, if someone were to tell me that you needed a certification just to navigate AWS, I would believe them without question.
Because based on what I've heard (I don't use it personally), it's a bloody mess. 😵💫
Basically, that was a long wall of text to say I support your decision and you deserve a mental health break. Seriously: *please* do so when you can.
Just goes to show that some people claim to be “compassionate” but are just performative and use weird arguments to justify hatred. They’re no different from the very people they don’t like. (And I have additional personal grips with some of these yahoos, but I won’t state them here.)
