CRPGs is a genre that has always thrived with having minimal or no voice acting, see the recent Disco Elysium-like game Esoteric Ebb for reference. Good writing and sharp dialogue can speak for itself.
There are some scenes that have been edited, so it is definitely not the whole actual movie. Having said that the film does cut down on some scenes and events from the game, so it’s not exactly a brilliant adaptation but I think it comes the closest and it understands the quirkiness of Yakuza well.
