"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."

In what will probably be the lone Phillies highlight of the night because they're playing some of the worst baseball we've seen in 2026 by any team, here is Felix Reyes' entire first Major League at-bat that ended with a home run, as called by Scott Franzke
I have nothing against Jalen Brunson but it probably feels pretty good to kick him in the goolies
Did you clear this with security?

In between singing wheels on the bus, we discussed our administration’s vision for this City — one where New York’s Cutest have the strongest start possible.
Zohran Mamdani on CBS — “Socialist politics can flourish anywhere, because there is only one majority in this country, and that is the working class. It’s time we have a politics that puts them at the heart of what we’re doing, not in the appendix.”

The fake news Rod Dreher "fell for" was that Péter Magyar mast*rbated in front of his three young sons and that he put a puppy in the microwave. I wish I were joking.

The Supreme Court long relied on careful, time-tested procedures to issue decisions. But secret memos by the justices, obtained by The New York Times, show how the court decided to bypass those procedures and create its modern “shadow docket.” See key takeaways: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...
anyway, if this court is going to act as little more than a partisan legislature than it ought to be treated like one by the actual legislature
Most striking to me about these memos is the radically different assessment of the harm imposed by the president not being able to pursue his initiatives. Over the last 15 mos., that harm has in numerous cases been treated as almost per se serious and irreparable. Here, it gets no analysis at all.
some rainy saturday or sunday in the future, i really do recommend blocking out an hour to two to just scroll and click through r/treelaw
As long as futures are cheaper, problem solved!
I covered the sandwich beat in Philly which is basically a dream come true job and John's is the best roast pork AND the best cheesesteak in Philly. Which is almost unfair. You shouldn't be able to make the best version of Phillys two iconic sandwiches and yet here we are
“In public, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. has cultivated a reputation for care and caution. The papers reveal a different side of him. At a critical moment for the country and the court, the papers show, he acted as a bulldozer in pushing to stop Mr. Obama’s plan.”
