I know this is a “hot take”, but the first title doesn’t make sense to me as it means “The Original Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun” despite not being a prequel. But I would’ve preferred a different title like “River City: Kunio’s Sophomore Adventure”. Nonetheless, I will also call it “Shodai” for ease.

Personally, while I do not mind the “River City” title (as long as NOBODY refers to RCG as a part of this series), I can understand why you would dislike the title and its inconsistency.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I already hate it here.
