A white statue of Queen Victoria, on a plinth and surrouned by metal railings. In the backaground is a large building with many narrow arched windows, two towers, turrests along the roof and lots of narrow poiinty things on all the roof edges and towers. In front of the statue are a series of shallow but very wide stesps. There are about seven boys and young men loitering here, leaning against the rails. One is crouched. They're dressed in brown/dark trousers and jackets, and wearing flat capts. Down the side of the railings is what looks like an older man, with a hat and white beard.
State of a serious looking woman holding a rod and ball. The state sits on a plinth raised on three circular stteps. Behind are yellow-leaved (autumn) leaves. To the left ia a large cathedral building. It is more in the background and dominating as in the postcard. There are no rails and no one loitering on the steps.
Bristol Cathedral & Statue, c.1910 & 2022.
The statue has moved slightly so the angle is different (and there's a busy street directly behind me that I was trying not to step into).
