No-one is doing it like the Killjam team! It’s gory, horny and hilarious - I loved every second of the first season! These characters are so truly f*cked up!! I hope they don’t get better! For a show about capitalist death matches, there is so much LOVE in it. I think the creators have something so special here and I can’t wait to find out what comes next!

Even after two eps, I can see how The Night Road could easily become a favourite show of mine. Familiar voices from The Mistholme Museum take us on a caravan ride through the Night. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the world building here, I just have to be careful - I have a feeling this is a show that might bite back!

A review reading: A weird, SFF comedy with so much heart. There truly is nothing else like TKH in the audio drama space. A comfort show should not be this gory, but I still can’t help myself from smiling every time I pop an episode on! I love the way they use the Historian narrator character, it’s such a fun framing device while still allowing for lots of action!

A review for The Twelvelms Conspiracy: Easily one of my standout favourites of the year, even after only a handful of episodes. Twelvelms tells a unique and mysterious tale of students at a magical university, with incredibly well-considered world-building and characters that have already burrowed straight into my heart. Eira has an incredible talent for giving the perfect amount of information to keep you guessing and the satisfaction of being able to put the mystery together just as the answer is revealed. It’s addictive! I listen to each episode multiple times between release dates because I don’t want to leave this world!

This show is still relatively new to me but it was an instant favourite as soon as I started listening. The premise blends the weird, funny, and profound into a delightfully produced mix that is exactly my sense of humour. I know I’m going to laugh every episode, even if I might also shed a couple of tears! There’s a wider mystery creeping into the narrative and I’m looking forward to finding out more whilst still hearing the stories of the customers passing through! A huge must-listen for fans of sci-fi and weird fiction!!

The Amelia Project has been such a source of levity and delight for me since I started listening! It has become my go-to ‘feel better about the world’ podcast. The humour is right up my street and every episode gets at least a sensible chuckle if not an outright giggle. The cast are absolutely fantastic and they bounce off each other so well. I love that the show feels so international and that the plot meanders across the globe! If you’re looking for perfectly-produced comedy with heart and wonderful characters that look no further than here!

A review reading: Hi Nay is a show I really wish I had listened to sooner. I love how it uses different framing devices (phone calls, recordings, radio show) and how personal the dialogue feels as the main character talks to her mother. Hi Nay has a solid main cast and following the development of the characters’ relationships is one of the best parts of the show, even if they do drive me crazy in the best way. I love how the show treats its main character - she’s powerful and funny and beautiful and she still has to call her Nay when things get rough!! The horror elements of the show tie very nicely into the overarching mystery without losing their impact as individual stories - I have been spooked plenty of times! Having a Filipina main character also makes the show feel so fresh and unique compared to the western horrors I’m used to, I love not knowing the ‘rules’ of certain monsters and how they can be overcome! I couldn’t recommend Hi Nay more!

A review reading: I was so excited for the release of Camlann and it exceeded even my highest of expectations! There is so much heart in this show and it manages to bring out the nostalgia of my love of BBC Merlin whilst still being a fresh and unique Arthurian story. The acting is fantastic and the actors have so much chemistry which really brings the relationships to life. The music and sound design are both wonderful - whether in an action scene or a moment of quiet contemplation - and both add so much richness to the story. I need a season two so badly!

A review which reads: I’m absolutely obsessed with this show. I listen to a lot of audio drama but nothing makes me *think* quite like Remnants. Each episode is immaculately crafted with complex characters and big ethical questions. The red string board is more of a tapestry and we’re not even a full season through yet! I have cried so many times listening to this show, but I wouldn’t say that it’s a tragedy (I don’t think!). I adore how the stories tend to start in childhood and we get a glimpse of how early experiences shape a complicated life. There’s a really fantastic twist already and each episode teases more of the ongoing mystery! There’s so much humanity packed into 40 min punches and I’m always so ready for the next episode to drop!
