Nerd Factory Update: trying out some 1490 Doom Scout, Fighter and Warrior Priest kitbashes, using a couple of damaged Lost Heresy prints with Perry Miniatures and Frostgrave kits. Pleased with how they came out for some fairly simple conversions!

Three kitbashed minis for 1490 Doom, primed black and dry brushed. There’s a masked Assassin, with axe, antler breathing tubes and severed head, a Scavenger with a stick, knife and bundle on their back and a Saboteur with a hand axe and rebreather.
When I started getting into minis a year ago I thought it’d be all about painting and playing. Instead I fell in love with scratch building terrain and kit bashing skirmish warbands. Here’s some 1490 Doom weirdos made from bits from a half dozen kits and, my new love, Green Stuff.

Played in a 1490 Doom tournament today. Very cool.
My first time playing. It’s intuitive and fast, a half hour per game.
A round board puts a greater focus on the terrain and being miniature agnostic and three models per side gives it a low barrier to entry.

I am so attracted to the ultra small scale skirmish combat and the super simple rules. Its gives real reason to verticality besides just having a tactical advantage. I really need to get a squad put together until the official minis drop.
