I missed some days of #24daysoftea / #24daysofwhittardtea. I've tried Christmas Tea (6/10), Piccadilly Blend (9/10), English Rose (4/10), Lemon & Ginger (5/10), Ceylon (3/10) and Masala Chai (9/10). I might have repeated some and definitely forgot some. Shrug!

Today’s tea is my new “good books, warm tea, fuzzy socks” mug. Beside the mug is a sugar bowl decorated with a partridge in a pear tree. In the background, a clear kettle displays the lovely orange colour of this tea.

“Silent Night” rooibos
Smells like clementines! Beautiful orange colour. But-oof!-first sip was bitter; however, the tiniest spoon of sugar took the edge off.
Wonderful aftertaste of clove.

Brown Sugar Bourbon
The name sounds better than the taste…but the tea isn’t bad. I just wanted a stronger bourbon flavour. This tea also uses stevia.
On a positive note, I had been hankering for a black tea and David’s delivered.

Its scent is as delightful as its name. Nice mildly sweet flavour. But there’s stevia in it.

Organic Orange Spice Green Tea
Strong scent of cinnamon & clove when I opened the tin. The steeped tea smells like a Valentine cinnamon ❤️ The taste is quite mild.

Snickerdoodle rooibos is a cloudy, golden tea. I have a full glass kettle in the background, two glass mugs in the front and two types of gingerbread cookie in the foreground. The gingerbread man has one leg bitten off.

December 14: Gin and Tonic green tea #24daysoftea, which complemented the story and The Lottery by Adam O'Fallon Price #ssac2024. There's an undercurrent of anxiety from the beginning. Fascinating how reader's perception of narrator changes by the end-he goes from sympathetic to really unsettling.
In the background a plastic box holds my homegrown herbs (although my husband has labelled them as spices). Each herb has been dried and is in its own bottle. A mug of green tea is in front of the box. It is a Christmas mug with a heart ornament on it. Beside the mug, there’s a ramekin full of homemade chocolates from Candies of Merritt.

Day 14: Gin & Tonic
A green tea with apple, lemon (dominant), licorice and juniper flavours. I can also taste the coriander and cardamom.
I’ll probably need to add some honey if I can’t stand the healthy taste.

Published in 1931,it's the story of "three elderly, cheerful women" spending Christmas in the countryside, a plate missing from a collectible china set and a ghost.

A lovely green tea with just the right amount of cinnamon, vanilla and caramel flavours. A spoonful of honey made the tea cheery and bright and the perfect companion to Christmas Town. It even got an audience with the big man himself!

December 10: Mother's Little Helper #24daysoftea and Tardy Suit by Thomas Pierce #ssac2024. This short cyberpunk cli-fi tale told on a series of index cards, complements Ham by John Jodzio (story #8) as a critique of inequality in American society. Both stories involve the safe return of a child.
December 9: A white chocolate rooibos-Snowball Fight #24daysoftea. What to Call You by Casey Plenty in the #ssac2024. "Niagara's a weird town. It's like a tourist trap that glitched as it moved through time. Some strange wisp of a faded seaside feel, though it's November and chilly¬ the seaside."
