Day 7. Donna Hill is a WRITER, her books will grab you and hold tight until you reach the end. This book was nothing Ike what I expected but it’s been one of my favorites!!! Also, if I was Leone I woulda had my cake and ate it too 😉😉😉 #28DaysofBR

Day 6. Gwynne Forster knew how to craft love stories that felt real, emotional, and always unforgettable. Her Black Romance stories remind us that love is always worth the risk. Rufus and Naomi drove me crazy; but of all the couples we got from this legend they at the top of my list. #28DaysofBR
Day 5. I’d never heard of Van Whitfield until I was doing research for more Black Male Authors writing Black Romance in the 90’s. He published 3 books and from what I found people liked his books because they brought humor and authenticity. Looking forward to reading this one!

Day 4. Sandra Kitt, the FIRST Black Author to write for Harlequin. A trailblazer. These three books are so special to me, I cried when I lost them and then cried again when I was able to find replacement copies. #28DaysofBR
Day 3. Francis Ray knew how to deliver a Black Romance story and Forever Yours is no exception! Listen Kane Taggart was a MAN and he LOVED Victoria, like you could feel it. This was EVERYTHING I love about an arranged marriage story. #28DaysofBR
Day 2 of 28 Days of Black Romance with Ms. Rochelle Alers.
This particular story is one of the main reasons why I have a thing for the “daddy who stepped up” trope.

Rochelle Alers. Another pioneer who really helped to shape the genre we love so much. The characters she writes have so much depth and Nicole and Zach are proof of that. I want to say this was my first single parent read and it’s probably why it’s one of my favorite tropes to this day.

Brenda Jackson. A Legend. You CANNOT talk about Black Romance without acknowledging her contributions, 149 books and counting. I mean the Madaris series alone should be studied by some of our current faves! The Grangers series has been adapted to film by PassionFlix, 3rd on out on 2/13!

Happy Day 1 of #28DaysofBR.
What is #28DaysofBR you ask? Even though we read/celebrate Black Romance 365, this is a little challenge I created in 2022 to put the spotlight on the authors and stories we love so much.
This years theme is Black Romance authors from the 90’s and 2000’s
Ok I figured out #28DaysofBR….. it’s ALL Indie in 2025 but now I gotta reach out to all these authors and see if they’ll participate.
