As season 3 of JJK ended a few days ago, I wanted to make an abridged version of the three way domain expansion (though still wip)!
Ishigori always talks about hunger, so he kinda needed a break mid-battle (dumbfounding the other two).

I picked Raripunk because I fell in love with that design during the episode she sported it, the variety of colors, the punk look, working around her messy mane, Rarity is one of my faves from the mane cast!
I wanted to draw Susie for YEARS, and I did make art of her... When Episode 1 first released, then felt like I lacked the confidence to make art of her (let alone the other characters). With this very basic take on her battle sprite, I feel like I can make more art of her, get some cool stuff going on! I was tempted to do some parallel line shading, but I had to hold myself back, lol, I set up the rules for this art lesson, I must follow them!
Despite already having 2D renders and the wealth of 2D fanarts, I felt like I needed to really figure out translating Pomi's 3D look into my own 2D style. This is her as she's finally telling Caine off in Episode 8 of the show, I went a bit outside the norm and apply small little things that felt more fitting for myself than trying to follow the perfectly shaped 3d model. All in all, this one turned out really good! Makes me want to try the other characters next!
Drawing Sonic OCs is one of the most common things I do, and yet, for years I always found myself struggling to figure out how to make their heads. Starline here is wearing a suit I picked for him cuz he's part of a silly multiverse rp we had going in an old discord server, I wanted to work out adapting the proportions, make sure the suit loooked like it was being worn, and not just layered on top of him. Also, I wanted to finally get over the biggest hurdle with the head, see... Sonic has a round head and face, for years I was using him as the template, but in drawing Starline I realized at last: Their heads are not circles, they're not even "round", they have their own unique shapes with a flat base to account for the jaw. With this sketch, I feel like I finally understand Mobian anatomy better, so future Sonic related art is gonna turn out even better!

From left to right: Rarity from MLP: Friendship is Magic Susie from Deltarune Pomni from TADC Dr. Starline from IDW Sonic My main goal with these sketches is to both get out of my comfort zone, and also learn to hone my own artstyle by focusing on making sure these sketches are my own interpretations of these characters, rather than just copying their source material. This should help me get better with body proportions, have a better eye for design details, and also improve on my sketching times. I also want to break a bad habit I have where I feel every sketch needs to become a full picture, so it ends up consuming all my time (not a bad thing per se, but feels like I'm limiting myself). That way I can also make it easier for myself to draw from imagination or even be able to visualize poses that are not usually available for characters like this. All in all... I'd say this was a very good first lesson! I need to make more of these!
I decided that in order to level myself up, I need to start doing some self-taught art lessons!
So I got the self-imposed goal to make 4 sketches per day!
