A sprite lineup, showcasing the currently existing stand sprites for Flare, Ryder, and Tidal (using the last time I sprited her in the SRB2 style as she does not have a mod), alongside revised and redone versions of them, closer to how they're depicted in recent artwork (especially Ryder) and with my newer spriting skills and mentalities. Flare and Ryder's original sprites are labeled with "2021" and Tidal's with "2023", while the new versions are labeled with "2026". Alongside them all is the standard, unaltered standing Sonic sprite from the game, for reference purposes.

Flare and a ghostly Narlok in a diner somewhere in Spagonia. Narlok is staring in confused shock at someone off screen and Flare is simply staring blankly, some orange soda close to him.
Narlok's snaps out of his shock for long enough to actually say something, responding with a bewildered "Ryder, how do you know this?" Offscreen, Ryder responds with "Rel got th' wrong history book." Flare's expression still hasn't changed - everything Ryder said went in one ear and out the other.

The 5th anniversary artwork from 2022, showing both present-day (Sonicverse) Flare and the original 2017 Flare, both with extra aspects from designs between. 2022+ Flare is wearing Flynn's (2019) robes and wearing boots and pants resembling non-Sonic WF Flare's outfit (though these are innacurate to his current design), as well as cheek tuft similar to his. 2017 Flare has the golden Guardian warp bracelet from 2018 Flare and the more complex inhibitor (bearing the crest of Soleanna) from 2019 Flare (pre-Flynn), as well as his extra face marking above the cheek. The Egg Knight sword he wields, while not accurate to the actual Unleashed model, is closer to how I depicted it in his late 2017 artwork rather than early 2017. The logowork at the bottom reads "FLARE THE LIZARD 5TH ANNIVERSARY". However, "LIZARD" has been crossed out and "DRAGON" written underneath it... which is *also* crossed out, with "TYRANNOSAUR" underneath both. (Note: While making this gag, I briefly considered adding a second "LIZARD" between the final two species as a reference to Flare's "revival" for the original SRB2 mod, though I felt it was a bit redundant.) "FLARE THE LIZARD" resembles the modern Sonic logo (though in crimson and purple), while "5TH ANNIVERSARY" (vaugely) resembles the WildFire logo at the time. Behind all of this is a collage of Flare artwork over the years.
The artwork for Flare's 6th anniversary in 2023. Rather than just a single pair of past and present Flares, this time I wanted to showcase every significant "era" of his evolution. From top to bottom: 2017 Flare and Sonic the Werehog (who as a bonus easter egg uses the colours from WildFire's Alpha) - representing "Emerald Legacy". (...though this section actually represents the original fanfic where Flare was inserted into Unleashed's story, "Flare: A Continental Journey". If memory serves, this never got farther than the first page.) 2018-Early 2019 Flare, alongside his siblings Tairen (left) and Sasha (right) - representing "WARPED" and "GUARDIANS" (the latter specifically, though WARPED would evolve *into* GUARDIANS as things went along). Flynn Embertail (late 2019, right), alongside Torrentia (left) - representing "Torrentia: Rytal Resurgence" (previously "Torrentia: SuperCharge"). Both versions of 2023 Flare (Sonicverse on the left, G'Tauri on the right) and their respective Ryders - both representing "WildFire". Logowork at the bottom reads "6 YEARS", with the Flare logo seen in the 2.0 mod trailer below it. "6" is drawn in fire, referencing the aformentioned trailer. "Y" is styled after Emerald Legacy's logo. "E" is styled after Torrentia's logo. "A" is styled after GUARDIANS' logo. "R" is styled after WildFire's logo. "S" is styled after Sonic Robo Blast 2's logo. (Bonus easter egg: As a further reference to the 2.0 trailer, letters spelling out "LIZARD" are dotted throughout the background.)
The two Flare anniversary artworks prior to this year's - I'm still happy with how they came out.
