Day 20 (11/20): Today I am thankful for the marvels of modern medicine & the people who practice it. They often work long hours for people who are...less than appreciative for their care. Yet, without it & them, my kids might not be here.
I almost assuredly wouldn't be.

And while I don't make friends easily (being the somewhat anti-social curmudgeon I am), I treasure those people I meet and connect with.
So, to those new friends of mine - looking forward to future memories and hijinks!

Since then, I have made many delicious meals for family and friends. I consider myself a talented amateur in the kitchen, and have no desire to go "pro". But I still watch these shows when possible to get ideas and inspiration

The first that got me were the "Two Fat Ladies", Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson. Later, others would teach me a lot - but none as much as Alton Brown. Man, what better way to get me that to do the science behind cooking.

Day 17 (11/17): Today, I am thankful for cooking shows. While I was always kinda aware of the shows of Justin Wilson, Paul Prudhomme, Julia Child and others growing up, it wasn't until I was married that I started checking out cooking shows.

Steak, cheese, fried onions, roll (occasionally pizza sauce) - that's it.
