A telescopic image showing asteroid 3200 Phaethon, the parent body of the Geminid meteor shower, amidst the stars of the constellation Perseus. Two Geminid meteors are also visible as short streaks across the image, captured during a two-minute exposure near the shower's peak on December 13th, shortly before Phaethon's close approach to Earth on December 16th.
