Banned & cut to ribbons, it was reviled on released & almost black listed director Tod Browning.
It received a spanking new blu-ray release from Criterion & is classic of the genre.

On this day, 16th January 1999, Canadian sci-fi horror Cube got its Sundance premiere.
2 sequels & a Japanese remake, Cube bombed on its original release in Canada. A concerted media campaign by a distributor who faith in it saw it bring in $9m on a budget of $350k CAD.
