Here's the crazy story of the employer my 3x g-gma's brother lived with in Philly in the 1870s. He was even buried in their family plot. This saga involves multiple marriages, bigamy, mediums, and seances. #genealogy #familyhistory #52Ancestors #ancestry

With my Great x4 Grandfather, Samuel Nelson, I've finally caught up in this year's #52Ancestors Challenge. It was pretty easy when the information you have primarily looks like this. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #BrickWall

In my latest #52Ancestors Challenge post, meet another of my seventh generation Irish ancestors, Martha Burns. She might be connected, she might not. Did she even exist? #genealogy #FamilyHistory
All in all, I’d like one less brick in the wall. 🎶

It's easy to catch up with the #52Ancestors Challenge when you have next to no information to work with. This week I share what little I know about my Great x4 Grandmother, Martha Carr. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #BrickWall

Doing genealogy, you can't choose your ancestors. You have to take the crunchy with the smooth. For this week's #52Ancestors Challenge, I take a look at my Great x4 Grandfather, Daniel Thomas - churchman and slave owner. #genealogy #FamilyHistory

Advancing slowly forward with this year's #52Ancestors Challenge, I seem to have a lot to say about my Gx4 Grandmother, Nancy Ann Morehead, without having a lot of quality sources to consider. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

As slipping behind again on #52Ancestors going to tritely cover three weeks in one post and take things more literal than implied. Prompts of A Turning Point, An Address with a Story and A Family Pattern can sort of all be covered by the one street.
A lot of people are talking about their childhood homes this week. When in Rome: allroadhaverhill.blogspot.com/2026/03/52-a... #genealogy #52Ancestors

This coming week's #52Ancestors prompt is A Turning Point and for a start struggled to think but then a thought popped in.
Might be silly but a turning point for me was when I realised that my ability to learn had not escaped me but just how much pedigree collapse was in my family.
This is about finding out my 100% Polish mother's family is not 100% Polish. bonniegenealogy.blog/2026/03/09/2... #52Ancestors #genealogy #ancestry #familyhistory
#Genealogy #52Ancestors Paying attention to handwritten notes in a printed genealogy added credibility, because I recognized the handwriting. These valuable updates were made by people who actually knew the ancestors. #FamilyHistory climbingmyfamilytree.blogspot.com/2026/03/payi...

Week 9 of #52Ancestors is about conflicting clues. My 4x-great-grandfather Danforth Tombs' obituary names a brother... but I think it's really his nephew. bonniegenealogy.blog/2026/03/04/2... #genealogy #ancestry #familyhistory
This week's #52Ancestors prompt is 'Changed My Thinking' and definitely believe that researching family backgrounds over several generations is very beneficial. It doesn't necessarily give less than pleasant people an excuse but can learn things that may explain their behaviour a bit better.
#52Ancestors prompt - Conflicting Clues.
I have one person who has two completely different locations of birth on census returns.
Having established that this is the right person all way through them it became clear that the variance changed when they began to answer the census questions.
