Here's the crazy story of the employer my 3x g-gma's brother lived with in Philly in the 1870s. He was even buried in their family plot. This saga involves multiple marriages, bigamy, mediums, and seances. #genealogy #familyhistory #52Ancestors #ancestry

With my Great x4 Grandfather, Samuel Nelson, I've finally caught up in this year's #52Ancestors Challenge. It was pretty easy when the information you have primarily looks like this. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #BrickWall

In my latest #52Ancestors Challenge post, meet another of my seventh generation Irish ancestors, Martha Burns. She might be connected, she might not. Did she even exist? #genealogy #FamilyHistory

All in all, I’d like one less brick in the wall. 🎶

This coming week's #52Ancestors prompt is A Turning Point and for a start struggled to think but then a thought popped in.

Might be silly but a turning point for me was when I realised that my ability to learn had not escaped me but just how much pedigree collapse was in my family.

This week's #52Ancestors prompt is 'Changed My Thinking' and definitely believe that researching family backgrounds over several generations is very beneficial. It doesn't necessarily give less than pleasant people an excuse but can learn things that may explain their behaviour a bit better.

#52Ancestors prompt - Conflicting Clues.

I have one person who has two completely different locations of birth on census returns.

Having established that this is the right person all way through them it became clear that the variance changed when they began to answer the census questions.
