I often see is people complaining about gatekeeping and then just opening the floodgates until nothing resembling the original movement is left. Let me just say that if you are a man or you have a romantic partner that is a man or you have sex with men, you already don’t “qualify” for the movement. It doesn’t matter how progressive of lefty or whatever you think you or your man is. Literally the principles for this movement is to not date, marry, or have sex with men. And that’s ok. You don’t have to be at the center of every movement you can simply support your sisters who do decide to join it. But we do have to gatekeep. To not do so will betray the fundamental values of this movement.

Their thoughts don’t matter. Their opinions don’t matter. You don’t need to explain anything to them. You don’t need to prove anything to them. You don’t need to inform them of what you’re doing. You don’t need to change their mind or debate them. This is a movement centering women. Not men. They don’t matter.
