Upon approaching the front, the poll worker asked if she and the man were together, meaning entering the booth, which poll workers are not supposed to do. In some states, a spouse is allowed to assist in voting if requested, but should never be offered, as it could invite spousal voter intimidation. The OP corrected the poll worker and reported the offense to the head judge.
This is exactly the kind of sketchy shit I'm worried about.
"Misinformed" poll workers.
