I hold up a paperback novel in my left hand and photograph it in bright outdoor sun. I think it took in portrait mode so I hope the title is in focus. (Too bright out here for editing photos well.) Beyond the book is blue sky, green tree line, walnut brown decking, a white pup, cream sun chair, and my purple tie dye lap. The book is “A Murderous Business” by Cathy Pegau. It features an image of a woman on an early 1900s New York street under a lit lamp post. She faces away from the onlooker in long skirts, fitted bodice, and brimmed hat.
In between reads but recently finished #AMurderousBusiness by #CathyPegau and really liked it. A whodunnit page turner that doesn’t shy away from queer and feminist issues in a 1912 setting.
