CS PhD student receives distinctions at ANA 2025 Pengyu “Steven” Kan’s research on predicting biological brain age was recognized by both an oral presentation and a Poster Award.

Congratulations to Pengyu “Steven” Kan on his recognition at #ANA2025! Conducted with @imagingai.bsky.social, his research uses a deep learning model to predict biological brain age and identify critical regions of the brain associated with the aging process.

As #ANA2025 is wrapping up, it’s been a terrific meeting and a great chance to see so many colleagues and friends. We had great SCAN lab representation, with #ValerieMorrill and #EliseKinyanjui each presenting posters.

JAMA Neurology study on home training for cerebellar ataxias. The study included 33 men and 29 women, with aerobic and balance training interventions. Aerobic cycling showed statistically significant improvements in ataxia symptoms. Graph included.
