Named in memory and honour of Prof Leanne Armand who ran #ANZIC IODP and mentored many researchers working on microfossils and a champion for women - but was taken too soon by a rare cancer.

Last group photo of the awesome students and educators from the #ANZIC #IODP masterclass. We had a great few days on Heron Island at the #UQ research station learning about reef processes - carbonate produces, geological evolution and oceanography.

Today Gregg Webb introduced us to the mysterious beach rock at Heron Island. No idea how old it is and how quickly it is forming. Also no idea what is causing some of the interesting rimmel structures- any ideas? Any ideas? #ANZIC #IODP

We have been running the #ANZIC #IODP marine geoscience masterclass at #UQ and #QUT in SEQld this week. Great to see the students really engaging with geophysics, sedimentology, micropaleontology, microbiology and petrology…..

Today we started a 2 week #IODP #ANZIC masterclass at UQ and QUT in Brisbane teaching the students about marine geosciences. What an awesome group of talented students from all around Aus, NZ, Japan, US &PNG. The wonderful Ann-Maree Long ran a great intro and cultural session.

It was a privilege to spend the last 9 days running the #ANZIC masterclass at #UQ and #QUT in SE QLD. #IODP. Such a diverse, engaged and motivated students from across Australia and New Zealand (and a couple from the US and Europe and Japan). The future of marine geoscience is in good hands.
