AuGhost 2024 Day 7 - Chatty Smile, a tall bed-sheet ghost with long, red eyes and a gaping smile, is speaking loudly and incessantly at Witness, a short bed-sheet ghost with big empty eyes and petal-like bumps around the bottom.
While yesterday's stream (the last one I'll be doing for a at least a month) was deliciously long, I only got to do one #aqArt sketch due to a phone call going hella long. With the two prompts, it felt perfect for a redraw of one of my first sketches during this journey, and I really like it :+). ↓
Color palette, dubbed the "aqueous palette," stylized as "aqueousPalette," arranged in a back-and-forth diagonal gradient. Still haven't done my rambling at the bottom of the #aqArt sketches for last week, but here's the main thing I learned from the sketches: what CSP does with its color wheel. Specifically, I'm referring to the tool that allows you to change the base color while maintaining "position" in the plane. ↓

Here be this week's #aqArt sketches! I hate both lol. Largely, I made some mistakes with the first and just spent too much time on the second without either getting closer to being perfect for my brain folds. There's still some good-good that came out from it, tho, so I _should_ be happier. ↓

Another week, another batch of #aqArt sketches! I wanted to emphasize these as sketches to just try things and do a thing and not stress over it, and I think I did that well here. I'm still enjoying using two words for the prompts by giving the prior month more chances with the wheel, too!

I felt like the feather dusty came out well, and I like this new sketchier design to the ghosts' line art. I wonder if I'll be able to replicate the sketchier lines in a satisfying way on sketches without the cast of ghosts.
Digital illustration. Standing in place is an OC Troll design based on the trolls of Homestuck. They are a sea-dweller, evident by their characteristic fin/gills on their head. Their shirt is the common black that trolls wear, with this one's sign being my "Aquaricorn" sign that combines the waves of the Aquarius sign with the loop of the Capricorn sign. Despite being a sea-dweller, their sign is a dark blue, which would normally represent a land-dweller troll. The shirt covers the top of their grey cargo shorts. They have striped socks that reveal a blue-white-blue pattern. Their shoes are the same dark blue as their sign and has white along the bottom. Their eyes betray exhaustion with deep bags, but they have a slight smile. Their hair is long, lying flat on top but ending in wavy curls. Their horns have the same candy-corn coloring trolls typically have, and the horns are asymmetrical. The horn on our left is somewhat wavy with two protrusions bending upwards and the core ending at a bend. Instead of the new video post, I felt it prudent to get the sketches from last week on here, especially since I keep wanting to mess with my trollsona sketch. In sea of swishing miasma, a bear stands atop a striped ball. The ball is compressed from the weight of the bear, whose face conveys a sadness. This is the first sketch I've done with my return to a larger canvas size, as mentioned in the skeet's text. I mixed some pattern tools with the aliasing liquify tool to get the "ground," and I'm still very much not 100% happy with it, but that's fine. I also mixed patterns on the bear's coloring, and I largely like what happened there. I also figured out that you can turn Text layers to Raster (normal?) layers in ClipStudio Paint, which helped me preserve the pixelated state of Size 1 Courier New Bold that I use, but the resizing does seem to have manifested some weirdness.

Its red eyes beam in that somewhat leftward direction, and its wide smile oozes onto the ground below it. Quite ridiculous. Anyway, I've fallen in love with the sketchier lines I did here, and I really enjoy what blending modes have done to infuse the art with the glitch patterns I used here. I also figured out more about how to use the Glitch Blend tool, and I'm looking forward to more fucking around next week!
This week's sketches! I made the move to 500*500 canvases, and it was an initial struggle to figure out what I liked from my brushes, but I do think I did, at least today with "Snark." I especially jive with the sketchier lines in that one, but sad bear in "Cynosure" is a good lad. #aqArt #pixelart
