It's been a busy few weeks of conferencing, but it has truly been a pleasure to present my work and connect with other researchers passionate about reducing childhood health inequalities #ASMSPHR2025 #INRICH

Really honoured to be given the runner up prize for the Public Involvement and Engagement Award at the NIHR #ASMSPHR2025. I didn't even know I'd been nominated! 😂 Really proud of the work me & my colleagues do with our community partners on the WHOLE-SMI Project. Thank you @nihrsphr.bsky.social

Beautiful morning walk in Bristol getting day 2 of #ASMSPHR2025 with @nihrsphr.bsky.social off to a great start.
The digital stories created by @nihrsphr.bsky.social researchers are just fantastic! So engaging any impactful. #ASMSPHR2025
Unintended consequences: the focus on getting children to achieve 5 GCSEs meant attainment improved overall but declined for lower attaining children as schools focused efforts on getting the marginal children "across the line"
Chris Bonell key note speech #ASMSPHR2025 @nihrsphr.bsky.social
How can we facilitate a sense of belonging in schools and what impact would this have on young people's mental health and risk behaviours?
Enjoying Chris Bonell's key note speech.
#ASMSPHR2025 @nihrsphr.bsky.social
Really interesting to hear Chris Bonell talking about his research on toxic education and how schools can sometimes harm young people.
(Also lovely to be reminded of the fantastic work of the late Farah Jamal.)

In what has been an amazing #ASMSPHR2025 in Bristol for @nihrsphr.bsky.social, the ChilyPep video by young people during the current session has been the most inspiring, and to say it’s a competitive field is a massive understatement
Russ Jago taking about the Holiday Activity and Food programme.

Interesting to hear about "unmethods" in #ASMSPHR2025 children's and families work. Letting go of our traditional methods and allowing ourselves to "fall into conversations" with young people.
Amazing contributions from colleagues across the School for Public Health Research on Day 1 (one square represents a young person excluded from school). #ASMSPHR2025

Now listening to a really interesting talk on looking at the current "individualistic" framing it gambling harms which fails to acknowledge the unequal harm across communities.

Matt Lenny taking about how alcohol is often a forgotten public health issue and that we have no national alcohol strategy. Why not?

Very happy to attend to #ASMSPHR2025 in Bristol. It was meant to be here 5 years ago when I was in my first year of PhD, but it is never too late!
Looking forward to connecting with peers working on any topics of #PublicHealth and learn from all the wide community of @nihrsphr.bsky.social!
Proportionate universalism in action - breastfeeding peer support in North Somerset increasing breastfeeding rates in most deprived areas. #ASMSPHR2025
My health inequities lectures often present depressing stats on how inequities are getting worse.
This is a nice local example of how peer support has helped level out breastfeeding inequities in North Somerset.
Anyone got other good local examples?
